  1. 1. Perspectives from a human-centred archaeology : Iron Age people and society on Öland

    Författare :Helene Wilhelmson; begravning och social identitet Gravarkeologiska forskargruppen – Död; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Osteology; bioarchaeology; Iron Age; Scandinavia; 3D; digital; Image Based Modeling; GIS; isotopes; Oxygen; Strontium; Carbon; Nitrogen; trophic level effect; fractionation; chronology; network; Virtual Taphonomy; human-centred archaeology; mortographies; dietary shift; integration; immigration; diet; migration; violence; burial; Viking Age; Öland; island;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this study was to develop, test and evaluate a specifically defined interdisciplinary approach—the human-centred approach—as applied to a case study, Iron Age Öland. Four themes were selected to highlight different aspects of particular interest in Öland: taphonomy, diet, migration, and social organization. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Benthic invertebrate food webs in the Baltic Sea : Anthropogenic pressure effects and methodological advancements

    Författare :Julie Garrison; Francisco Nascimento; Ángel Borja; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; food web; trophic network; detritivore; Baltic Sea; macrofauna; marinbiologi; Marine Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Trophic interactions are ecologically important, as they structure communities, and globally important for the ecosystem functions that they facilitate. Anthropogenic pressures are altering the structure of food webs, their stability, and resilience to change. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Functional diversity of zooplankton in marine food webs : Integrating DNA metabarcoding and network modeling

    Författare :Andreas Novotny; Monika Winder; Catherine Legrand; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plankton; Food-Webs; DNA metabarcoding; Marine; Baltic Sea; Marine Ecology; marin ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : The oceans are important regulators of the Earth’s climate system by sequestering carbon from the atmosphere taken up by primary producers. Zooplankton, including protozoans and metazoans of different phyla and size classes, occupies several trophic niches and regulates energy flow between primary producers and fish. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Food Web Ecology -- individual life-histories and ecological processes shape complex communities

    Författare :Martin Hartvig; Evolutionär ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; food web; community ecology; community assembly; size-structure; life-history omnivory; ontogeny; trophic interactions; trait based model; topology; emergent organisation; size-spectrum;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis sets out a food web framework for size-structured populations. The framework enables an ecological approach to food web modelling as the individual life-history from birth, through maturation, and ultimately death is explicitly resolved with the use of bioenergetics based on individual body size. 5. 5. The fate and effect of pharmaceuticals in boreal surface waters

    Författare :Johan Fahlman; Jonatan Klaminder; Jan Karlsson; Fredrik Jutfelt; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aquatic ecosystems; behavioural effects; ecotoxicology; acoustic telemetry; field verification; social network; ekotoxikologi; Ecotoxicology; environmental science; miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Traces of pharmaceuticals are often found in streams, rivers, and lakes as the result of effluent water discharge. This dissertation aims to create a better understanding of the fate of drugs in aquatic ecosystems and how oxazepam, an anxiolytic pharmaceutical commonly detected in surface waters, affects the behavior of perch (Perca fluviatilis).
