  1. 16. Managing the Modularization of Complex Products

    Författare :Magnus Persson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automotive industry; complex products; managerial issues; modularization; product development;

    Sammanfattning : Modularization is becoming very common among many companies in different industries. Present literature on modularization focuses on its benefits. There are few illustrations of how a modularization actually should be accomplished, and of which managerial issues modularization brings to the company. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Evaluation of the Random-LOS Measurement System for Vehicular Communication Applications

    Författare :Madeleine Schilliger Kildal; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reverberation Chamber; Over-the-Air; Anechoic Chamber; Random Line-of-Sight; Rich Isotropic Multipath; wireless communication; car measurements; throughput;

    Sammanfattning : The automotive industry is progressively closing on the Telecom industry as wireless data connection and transmission become more and more important for vehicles. In both future and present cars, the safety and infotainment systems depend on reliable wireless data transmission. This is especially the case when autonomous cars will reach the market. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Leveraging supplier material data to inform LCA modelling and resource assessment in the automotive industry

    Författare :Felipe Bitencourt de Oliveira; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : A new EU directive on used vehicles has recently been introduced. It demands that for every scrapped car, at least 85% by weight must be recycled by the year 2006 and 95% by 2015. The current level is about 80%. The car disassembly industry was chosen as the study object of this thesis. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Pilot Production and Manufacturing Start-up in the Automotive Industry. Principles for Improved Performance

    Författare :Henrik Almgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; disturbance control; performance; verification; manufacturing start-up; learning; pilot production; Swedish automotive industry; product and production preparation;

    Sammanfattning : The dissertation is based on experiences from Volvo Car Corporation and examines pilot production and manufacturing start-up, processes that are here combined under the rubric final verification of product and production system. The purpose of this dissertation is to study pilot production and manufacturing start-up in order, first, to identify and analyze factors affecting final verification performance and, secondly, to develop general principles for how final verification performance can be improved.
