  1. 1. Pilot Production and Manufacturing Start-up in the Automotive Industry. Principles for Improved Performance

    Författare :Henrik Almgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; disturbance control; performance; verification; manufacturing start-up; learning; pilot production; Swedish automotive industry; product and production preparation;

    Sammanfattning : The dissertation is based on experiences from Volvo Car Corporation and examines pilot production and manufacturing start-up, processes that are here combined under the rubric final verification of product and production system. The purpose of this dissertation is to study pilot production and manufacturing start-up in order, first, to identify and analyze factors affecting final verification performance and, secondly, to develop general principles for how final verification performance can be improved. 2. 2. Aspects of Ash Transformations in Pressurised Entrained-Flow Gasification of Woody Biomass : Pilot-scale studies

    Författare :Charlie Ma; Marcus Öhman; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; woody biomass; gasification; ash transformation; slag behaviour; refractory corrosion; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Pressurised entrained-flow gasification (PEFG) of woody biomass has the potential to produce high purity syngas for the production of vital chemicals, e.g., biofuels. However, ash-related issues such as reactor blockages and refractory corrosion need to be addressed before this potential can be realised from a technical perspective. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Exploring organizational translation : A case study of changes toward Lean Production

    Författare :Jostein Langstrand; Mattias Elg; Bo Bergman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Organizational change; Lean Production; Organizational translation; Organisatorisk förändring; lean; organisatorisk översättning;

    Sammanfattning : Lean Production has received massive attention during recent years, and many organizations attempt to introduce it with an ambition to reach the radical improvement effects that are promised in the popular management literature. However, introducing a management concept can be a very challenging task, and research has shown that the majority of such initiatives fail. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Airborne cognitive systems in search of an appropriate context: Studies of the introduction of new technology in aviation using a cognitive systems engineering approach

    Författare :Örjan Goteman; Ergonomi och aerosolteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Lufttransportteknik; Air transport technology; Safety; RNAV; Pilot; Automation Modes; HUD; Datalink; Cognition; Automation; Aviation;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Technology is always designed for an assumed user in an assumed context. In commercial aviation, these design assumptions are clearly spelt out in that both crew and equipment are certificated for a specific operation as stated in the aircraft flight manual. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Bio-based barriers from wood hydrolysates : A pilot-scale approach

    Författare :Soheil Saadatmand; Ulrica Edlund; Youssef Habibi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wood hydrolysate; biorefinery; oxygen permeability; multilayer barriers; food packaging.; vedhydrolysat; syrgaspermeabilitet; barriärskikt; livsmedelsförpackning;

    Sammanfattning : Wood hydrolysates (WHs) are liquids extracted from the hydrothermal treatment of wood. They exist as the byproduct of forestry industries such as the dissolving pulp and fiberboard industries. WHs are hemicellulose-based with a large share of lignin in the chemical composition. LÄS MER
