21. Endosymbiosis of Frankia cluster-2
Sammanfattning : Actinobacteria of the genus Frankia engage in root endosymbiosis with actinorhizal plants belonging to the Fagales, Cucurbitales and Rosales. The genus Frankia consists of four different clades. Strains belonging to cluster-1, -2, and -3 exhibit host-specificity which plants they can nodulate, while cluster-4 strains do not engage in symbiosis. LÄS MER
22. Synthesis of Spiro-bicyclo[2.2.2]Octane Derivatives Towards the Development of Paclitaxel Mimetics
Sammanfattning : Many of the drugs that are developed in the pharmaceutical industry have their origin in natural products. Paclitaxel, the active substance of the medicine Taxol, was found in the bark of the Pacific yew tree (Taxus brevifolia). LÄS MER
23. Developing Data-Driven Models for Understanding Human Motion
Sammanfattning : Humans are the primary subjects of interest in the realm of computer vision. Specifically, perceiving, generating, and understanding human activities have long been a core pursuit of machine intelligence. LÄS MER
24. Preservation of Marine Reptile Soft Parts: Reconstructing the Life and Death of Ancient Leviathans
Sammanfattning : Marine reptiles constitute a diverse group of secondarily aquatic tetrapods that have inhabited the world’s oceans for the greater part of the last 250 million years. While certain large-scale anatomical changes have been observed through progressive alterations of their skeletal morphology (e.g. LÄS MER
25. Dynamics of the interstellar matter in galaxies : isolated barred spiral galaxies : cloud formation processes
Sammanfattning : The dynamical components of six isolated barred spiral (SB) galaxies are investigated. No evidence is found supporting the hypothesis of a low amount of dark matter being characteristic of SB galaxies. The presence of companion galaxies is found to correlate with an increased statistical spread in the neutral hydrogen (HI) extent. LÄS MER
