  1. 16. A Functional Approach to Hardware Software Co-Design

    Författare :Markus Aronsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; domain specific languages; functional programming; signal processing; code generation;

    Sammanfattning : Developing software for embedded systems presents quite the challenge---not only do these systems demand good knowledge of the hardware they run on, but their limited resources also make it difficult to achieve efficiency. For embedded systems with different kinds of processing elements, the challenge is even greater; the presence of heterogeneous elements both raises all of the issues associated with homogeneous systems, and may also cause non-uniform system development and capability. 2. 17. Image Analysis and Deep Learning for Applications in Microscopy

    Författare :Omer Ishaq; Carolina Wählby; Bernd Rieger; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Machine learning; Deep learning; Image analysis; Quantitative microscopy; Bioimaging; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Quantitative microscopy deals with the extraction of quantitative measurements from samples observed under a microscope. Recent developments in microscopy systems, sample preparation and handling techniques have enabled high throughput biological experiments resulting in large amounts of image data, at biological scales ranging from subcellular structures such as fluorescently tagged nucleic acid sequences to whole organisms such as zebrafish embryos. 3. 18. From green to yellow : a leaf story

    Författare :Olivier Keech; Per Gardeström; Pierre Dizengremel; Lee Sweetlove; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arabidopsis thaliana; chloroplasts; cytoskeleton; darkness; metabolism; microscopy; mitochondria; microtubules; senescence; system redox; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : När ett blad gulnar genomgår det både morfologiska och metaboliska förändringar. Denna process benämns senescence och en förbättrad förståelse av dess mekanismer är viktiga både ur ett grundvetenskapligt perspektiv och för potentiella bioteknologiska applikationer. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Musculoskeletal Development in Jawed Vertebrates : Gene function, cis-regulation, and 3D phenotypes in zebrafish

    Författare :Jake Leyhr; Tatjana Haitina; Sophie Sanchez; Per Ahlberg; Chrissy Hammond; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nkx3.2; Gdf5; Mkx; zebrafish; jaw joint; skeleton; fin development; cartilage; tendon; ligament; enhancer; CRISPR Cas9; mutant; microCT; synchrotron; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Organismal Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär organismbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Vertebrate skeletons are an intricate framework of bony and cartilaginous structures that form through carefully orchestrated developmental processes, guided by interacting genetic pathways that regulate cellular differentiation, migration, and tissue morphogenesis. The specific timing and localisation of gene expression shapes the diverse array of skeletal elements, from the flexible cartilages of the embryonic stage to the hardened bones that provide structural support in adulthood, and the joints and connective tissues that articulate the musculoskeletal system. 5. 20. A functional approach to heterogeneous computing in embedded systems

    Författare :Markus Aronsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Developing programs for embedded systems presents quite a challenge; not only should programs be resource efficient, as they operate under memory and timing constraints, but they should also take full advantage of the hardware to achieve maximum performance. Since performance is such a significant factor in the design of embedded systems, modern systems typically incorporate more than one kind of processing element to benefit from specialized processing capabilities.
