  1. 1. Regional Economics, Trade, and Transport Infrastructure

    Författare :Nicholas Sheard; Rikard Forslid; Keith Head; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Regional policy; agglomeration; firm heterogeneity; export market entry; export timing; air travel; infrastructure; Economics; nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : “Regional Policy in a Multiregional Setting: When the Poorest are Hurt by Subsidies” Regional subsidies have a positive short-term effect on the recipient regions, but as they alter migration patterns the long-term effects are less clear. This paper demonstrates using a three-region general equilibrium model that subsidising the poorest region may be to its detriment in the long term and thereby increase inter-regional inequality, if the subsidy draws firms from a nearby region that would function better as a production centre. 2. 2. Pulsed Tissue Doppler and left ventricular filling in acute coronary syndromes

    Författare :Cecilia Wallentin Guron; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Tissue Doppler; pulsed; regional timing; time interval; the E e filling index; E E; ; diastolic function; left ventricular filling pressure; right ventricular pressure; left atrial size.;

    Sammanfattning : Pulsed tissue Doppler is a new technique, which can investigate longitudinal left ventricular(LV) function, by measuring tissue velocities and timings. Patients with acute coronarysyndromes (ACS) frequently display a reduced longitudinal function. They also developglobal LV filling impairment. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A Time and Place for Agency

    Författare :Lucinda David; Institutionen för kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Agency; Resilience; Temporality; place leadership; Policy; Regional development; institutional change; timing norms;

    Sammanfattning : If places indeed matter, as economic geographers believe, then it must matter most to the people who live their everyday lives in these places and experience the world materially and socially through it. When a crisis hits and uncertainty ensues, it affects people who call these places home the most. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Palaeoenvironmental changes in the northern boreal zone of Finland: local versus regional drivers

    Författare :Shyhrete Shala; Karin H. Helmens; Christian Bigler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Palaeolimnology; Palaeoecology; Biological assemblages; Sediment geochemistry; Regional drivers; Local drivers; Quantitative temperature reconstructions; Transfer-functions; Holocene; MIS 5d-c; Northern boreal zone; NE Finland; kvartärgeologi; Quaternary Geology;

    Sammanfattning : Multiple proxies derived from the Lake Loitsana sediment sequence (NE Finland) are employed to determine the timing of deglaciation, characterise an early Holocene proglacial lake stage and reconstruct Holocene lake development. Local-scale processes causing shifts in biological assemblages are identified and the most likely Holocene mean July air temperature (Tjul) development is assessed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Same, Same but Different: On the Design of Cross-Regional Advisory Traffic Information Systems

    Författare :Minjuan Wang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; traffic safety culture; driving behavior; visual auditory; advisory traffic information system; cross-regional adaptation design; user interface design; information requirements;

    Sammanfattning : As the automotive markets increase rapidly in developing countries, the study of cross-regional differences is certainly becoming an important consideration for in-vehicle technology design. Particularly, when moving from immediate/operational responses to warnings towards tactical responses to advisory information, culture in the form of traffic safety culture (TSC) comes into play in relation to both the information needs and drive behaviours.
