  1. 1. The clinical importance of non-HLA specific antibodies in kidney transplantation

    Författare :Almahri Ayeda; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Transplantation; non-HLA antibody;

    Sammanfattning : The clinical significance of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) antibodies (Abs) for hyperacute, acute and chronic antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) of kidney allografts has been clearly demonstrated. AMR occurs in the absence of donor-reactive HLA Abs. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :Liver transplantation; acute rejection; antibody; biliary epithelial cell; sinusoidal endothelial cell; cholangitis; toll-like receptor;

    Sammanfattning : Liver transplantation (M) has become a standard treatment for many end-stage liver diseases. However, acute rejections still occur in about half of the liver transplant recipients even treated with a combination of different modem immunosuppressants. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NKG2D; Celiac disease autoimmunity; Gluten; Type 1 diabetes; Perinatal risk;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: The general objective of the present research was to study the association between type 1 diabetes and celiac disease, and the effects of dietary gluten on the risk of developing type 1 diabetes. More specific aims were as follows: to estimate the prevalence of celiac-disease-associated autoantibodies in children with type 1 diabetes; to study the connection between non-HLA genetic risk markers and autoantibodies associated with type 1 diabetes and celiac disease during the first year after diagnosis of type 1 diabetes; to investigate the effect of gluten on the risk of developing type 1 diabetes; to evaluate the impact of perinatal factors on the risk of developing both type 1 diabetes and celiac disease.
