  1. 16. Colloidal synthesis of metal oxide nanocrystals and thin films

    Författare :Fredrik Söderlind; Per-Olov Käll; Kajsa Uvdal; Mats Johnsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanoparticles; synthesis; contrast agents; functionalization; thin films; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : A main driving force behind the recent years’ immense interest in nanoscience and nanotechnology is the possibility of achieving new material properties and functionalities within, e.g., material physics, biomedicine, sensor technology, chemical catalysis, energy storing systems, and so on. 2. 17. Electrodeposition of Ag/Co and Au/Co compositionally modulated thin films and nanowire arrays

    Författare :Sima Valizadeh; Per Møller; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In the past decade, electrochemical synthesis of metallic nanowires within the pores of porous membranes have attracted considerable attention because of their special optical, electronic, and magnetic properties as well as potential for nanotechnological applications. The concept of using membranes as a template for fabrication of metallic nanowires by electrodeposition is considered as an alternative solution to overcome the difficulty of fabricating fibrils with very small diameters by lithographic methods. 3. 18. Following nanoparticle self-assembly in real-time : Small-angle X-ray scattering and quartz crystal microbalance study of self-assembling iron oxide nanocubes

    Författare :Martin Kapuscinski; Lennart Bergström; Niklas Hedin; Andrei Petukhov; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; self-assembly; mesocrystal; time-resolved; small-angle X-ray scattering; iron oxide nanocubes; QCM-D; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Self-assembly of nanoparticles is a widely used technique to produce nanostructured materials with crystallographic coherence on the atomic scale, i.e. mesocrystals, which can display useful collective properties. This thesis focusses on the underlying mechanism and dynamics of mesocrystal formation by using real-time techniques. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Relativenobility of precipitated phases in stainless steels : Evaluation with a combination of local probing techniques

    Författare :Namurata Sathirachinda; Jinshan Pan; Thomas Ladwein; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Stainless steels often exhibit complex transformation and precipitation behaviour due to a high content of alloying elements. Secondary phases can be formed in the temperature range of 300-1000°C and are generally undesirable due to their detrimental effect on mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of stainless steels. 5. 20. Nanomagnetic and Micromagnetic Properties of Rocks Minerals and Sulphide Oxidation Products

    Författare :Erik Eneroth; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; physical geography; Geology; multi-domain; single-domain; ilmenite; magnetite; maghemite; hematite; pyrite; marcasite; fysisk geografi; Geologi;

    Sammanfattning : Magnetic and related properties of rocks and products from oxidation of sulphide minerals have been investigated with magnetisation measurements (rocks and oxidation products), magnetic force microscopy (rocks), scanning electron microscopy (rocks and oxidation products), transmission electron microscopy (oxidation products), Mössbauer spectroscopy (oxidation products) and powder X-ray diffraction (oxidation products). The investigations have shown the following: During thermal oxidation of pyrite (cubic FeS2) and marcasite (orthorombic FeS2) in air, nano-crystals of a-Fe2O3 and g-Fe2O3 were formed. LÄS MER
