41. Factors influencing the metabolism of inorganic arsenic in humans
Sammanfattning : Inorganic arsenic (iAs), a naturally occurring drinking water contaminant, is a potent human carcinogen and toxicant. It is believed that in humans, as well as in most mammals, inorganic arsenic is biotransformed via reduction and methylation using one-carbon metabolism with S-adenosyl methionine (SAM) as methyl donor, and is excreted mainly in urine as dimethylarsinate (DMA) and methylarsonate (MA) as well as some unmethylated iAs (arsenate (As(V)) and arsenite (As(III)). 42. Factors influencing splanchnic microcirculation in animal models of endotoxaemia
Sammanfattning : Even though severe sepsis and septic shock therapy has improved in recent years, mortality remains high (22-50%). Disturbances in splanchnic organ homeostasis and increases in gut permeability have long been presumed to contribute to systemic inflammation and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome in critical illness and septic shock. 44. Investigation of the most essential factors influencing ski glide
Sammanfattning : There are many different parameters of a ski running surface (material, roughness, hydrophobicity, etc.). All the parameters have an influence on ski glide, some more and some less. Furthermore, some parameters with only minor relevance are commonly declared as critical, while truly critical parameters, as far as we know, never been investigated. LÄS MER
45. Molecular factors influencing epithelial-mesenchymal transition in breast cancer
Sammanfattning : Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a developmental process defined by loss of epithelial characteristics and acquisition of mesenchymal phenotype. EMT or similar processes are also implicated in carcinoma cell invasion and the progression of breast carcinoma to metastasis. LÄS MER
