The objective is to place Frida Kahlo’s pictorial production in relation to a place and time specific context and to test the theory for Frida Kahlo’s self-portraits as a project connected to a general striving towards a new formulation of a national identity. 24. Jämlikhet och valfrihet : en studie av den svenska invandrarpolitikens framväxt
Sammanfattning : The objectives of this dissertation are to study the beliefs about immigrant minorities and immigration policy expressed in Swedish public debate and politics and to study how Swedish immigration policy emerged and took on its distinctive shape, from the first immigration policy initiatives through the resolutions on immigration policy adopted by the Riksdag in 1975 and 1976.The dissertation shows, through studies of public debates, that equality gained unique status in Sweden. Sammanfattning : The thesis studies how and why ethnicity was used as a ground for separation in order to establish education that was segregated from the normal teaching in elementary schools.
