  1. 1. Energy consumption transition : final household energy consumption in the case of Sweden 1920-2010

    Författare :Mikael Levin; Lars-Fredrik Andersson; Ann-Kristin Bergquist; Thomas Pettersson; Bengt Kriström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; economic history; households; energy transition; energy consumption; residential; electrical appliances; Carbon dioxide; emission; ekonomisk historia; Economic History;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis examines households’ final energy consumption over the long run by measuring their final energy use and examining how structural, institutional and economic factors affected the demand for energy in the residential sector during the period 1920-2010, a period covering the transition from traditional to fossil to renewable energy carriers. I believe that wider understanding of the historical energy transition and energy consumption within the residential sector might help us gain important insights into the long-run development and the factors affecting energy consumption among the households. 2. 2. National Energy System Modelling for Supporting Energy and Climate Policy Decision-making: The Case of Sweden

    Författare :Anna Cecilia Krook Riekkola; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; climate policy; district heating; TIMES-Sweden; ancillary benefits; energy system models; cross-border trade; energy-economics; soft-linking.; CHP; system analysis; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Energy system models can contribute in evaluating impacts of energy and climate policies. The process of working with energy system models assists the understanding of the quantita-tive relationships between different parts of the energy system and between different time periods, under various assumptions. 3. 3. Understanding Energy Behaviour – A Necessity for Supporting Domestic Energy Conservation through Design

    Författare :Anneli Selvefors; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Energy conservation; energy behaviour; domestic energy consumption; design for sustainable behaviour; energy feedback;

    Sammanfattning : Domestic energy consumption is continuing to increase and the need to decrease consumption is growing more evident. In this research, two studies were conducted to further the understanding of domestic energy behaviour and increase the knowledge of how energy conservation can be supported. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Characterization of household energy consumption in Sweden : energy savings potential and feedback approaches

    Författare :Iana Vassileva; Erik Dahlquist; Jenny Palm; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Energy consumption is on a constant rise with domestic use contributing substantially to the overall consumption. The population growth along with ever increasing comfort levels and daily appliance usage are driving the domestic electricity demand to higher levels. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Positive Persuasion - Designing enjoyable energy feedback experiences in the home

    Författare :Anton Gustafsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Energy conservation; energy awareness; persuasive technology; sustainable HCI; ambient displays; pervasive games; serious games; engaging interaction; design; energy;

    Sammanfattning : The world currently faces huge challenges in terms of our excessive use of energy. Energy conservation – a topic that has been on the agenda since the energy crisis in the 1970s – has for this reason once again become a very central issue in our society. LÄS MER
