16. Electron transfer and fragmentation in fullerene collisions
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we present results from detailed gas phase studies of intrinsic properties of fullerenes (C60) and clusters of fullerenes as probed by slow multiply charged (atomic or cluster) ions in combination with coincidence time-of-flight mass spectrometry. We have investigated the structures, stabilities, and the electron mobilities of multiply charged clusters of fullerenes, (C60)nr+ (r=2-5). LÄS MER
17. Polyolefin Flame Retardant Cable Materials - Effect of Additives and Copolymer Structure
Sammanfattning : Fire safety of cables is becoming increasingly important as the use of electrical equipment steadily increases. Due to their excellent dielectric properties, polyolefin materials are widely used as insulating materials for cables. However, polyolefins are inherently flammable and need to be protected to meet the requirements on flame retardancy. LÄS MER
18. Charge transport in polymer-based insulating materials for high voltage applications: effect of single- and multi-layered structures
Sammanfattning : Polymer composites have been widely employed as electrical insulating materials for high voltage components and devices such as power cables, gas-insulated systems, rotating machines, line and post insulators, etc. Such materials are usually made by introducing inorganic oxides (SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3, MgO) into polymeric matrices e.g. LÄS MER
19. Device characteristics of sublimation grown 4H-SiC layers
Sammanfattning : At present, focus of the SiC crystal growth development is on improving the crystalline quality without polytype inclusions, micropipes and the occurrence of extended defects. The purity of the grown material, as well as intentional doping must be well controlled and the processes understood. LÄS MER
20. Numerical modeling of pulsed volume discharges for the generation of ozone
Sammanfattning : The pulsed electric volume discharge is a new alternativefor the efficient generation of ozone in compact systems. Thisthesis presents a parameter study of the reactions in this kindof homogeneous discharge, using a here developed numericalmodel DISCHEM which solves plasma chemical kinetic rate andenergy equations.
