  1. 1. Tracing Copper from society to the aquatic environment : Model development and case studies in Stockholm

    Författare :Qing Cui; Maria E. Malmström; Olle Wahlberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :diffuse source; source analysis; sediment pollution levels; urban lake; Copper; Stockholm archipelago; SFA; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Copper remains at elevated levels in the aquatic environment of Stockholm due to diffuse urban sources. Management of these diffuse sources requires their quantification but they cannot be measured directly by field observations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Chemical Vapour Deposition of Undoped and Oxygen Doped Copper (I) Nitride

    Författare :Anna Fallberg; Jan-Otto Carlsson; Mikael Ottosson; Kwang-Leong Choy; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemical vapour deposition; copper hexafluoroacetylacetonate; copper I nitride; copper I oxide; multilayers; oxygen doping; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : In science and technology there is a steadily increased demand of new materials and new materials production processes since they create new application areas as well as improved production technology and economy. This thesis includes development and studies of a chemical vapour deposition (CVD) process for growth of thin films of the metastable material copper nitride, Cu3N, which is a semiconductor and decomposes at around 300 oC. 3. 3. Slag Cleaning of a Reduced Iron Silicate Slag by Settling : Influence of Process Parameters and Slag Modification on Copper Content

    Författare :Jenny Isaksson; Caisa Samuelsson; Andreas Lennartsson; Anton Andersson; Pekka Taskinen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Copper losses; matte; speiss; fayalite slag; temperature; settling time; solid phases; industrial trial; CaO modification; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Sammanfattning : During the pyrometallurgical extraction of copper, a significant part of the copper is lost with discard slag, which decreases profits, overall copper recovery, and efficiency of raw material usage. Smelting furnace slag usually has a copper content that is close to or higher than that of copper ores. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Nitrous Oxide Formation over Zeolite-based Catalysts during Ammonia-SCR: The Effect of Framework Structure, Acidity, and Copper Content

    Författare :Ghodsieh Isapour Toutizad; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Copper content; In situ IR spectroscopy; Heterogeneous catalysis; N2O; Si Al molar ratio; SCR; Zeolites;

    Sammanfattning : The emission control of anthropogenic nitrous oxide (N2O), a by-product formed  through fossil- and renewable fuel combustion, agricultural activities, and industrial  chemical processes, has attracted large considerations due to its substantial contribution  in global warming and ozone layer depletion. Selective catalytic reduction with  ammonia (NH3-SCR) is the most prevailing technology for the abatement of nitrogen  oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gases from lean-burn processes, with the possible formation  of N2O. 5. 5. Micro-galvanic effects and corrosion inhibition of copper-zinc alloys

    Författare :Mattias Forslund; Jinshan Pan; Christofer Leygraf; Per Claesson; Jin Ying; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Copper; zinc; brass; octadecanethiol; IR Spectroscopy; AFM; atmospheric corrosion; aqueous corrosion; corrosion inhibition; Koppar; zink; mässing; oktadekantiol; IR-reflektions absorptionsspektroskopi; AFM; atmosfärisk korrosion; vattenaktig korrosion; korrosionsinhibering.; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning :    With the advancement and accessibility of local probing techniques that can operate at the submicron scale it has become possible to analyse the local corrosion properties of industrially important metallic materials and relate these properties to microstructure characteristics of the same materials. In this doctoral study the focus has been on copper-zinc samples, both as industrial brass alloys and as micro-patterned copper-zinc samples. LÄS MER
