  1. 1. Segmentation Methods for Medical Image Analysis : Blood vessels, multi-scale filtering and level set methods

    Författare :Gunnar Läthén; Reiner Lenz; Niels Christian Overgaard; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Image segmentation; Medical image analysis; Level set method; Quadrature filter; Multi-scale; Image analysis; Bildanalys;

    Sammanfattning : Image segmentation is the problem of partitioning an image into meaningful parts, often consisting of an object and background. As an important part of many imaging applications, e.g. face recognition, tracking of moving cars and people etc, it is of general interest to design robust and fast segmentation algorithms. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Level Set Segmentation and Volume Visualization of Vascular Trees

    Författare :Gunnar Läthén; Reiner Lenz; Magnus Borga; Lasse Riis Østergaard; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; level set methods; image segmentation; edge detection; visualization; volume rendering; blood vessels; angiography; vascular trees;

    Sammanfattning : Medical imaging is an important part of the clinical workflow. With the increasing amount and complexity of image data comes the need for automatic (or semi-automatic) analysis methods which aid the physician in the exploration of the data. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Computer-Assisted  Coronary  CT  Angiography  Analysis : From  Software  Development  to  Clinical  Application

    Författare :Chunliang Wang; Örjan Smedby; Anders Persson; Hans Frimmel; Evert-jan Vonken; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Vessel segmentation; coronary CTA; fuzzy connectedness; level set; coronary artery disease; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Radiological research; Radiologisk forskning;

    Sammanfattning : Advances in coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) have resulted in a boost in the use of this new technique in recent years, creating a challenge for radiologists due to the increasing number of exams and the large amount of data for each patient. The main goal of this study was to develop a computer tool to facilitate coronary CTA analysis by combining knowledge of medicine and image processing, and to evaluate the performance in clinical settings. Sammanfattning : The substantial advances of coronary CTA have resulted in a boost of use of this new technique in the last several years, which brings a big challenge to radiologists by the increasing number of exams and the large amount of data for each patient. The main goal of this study was to develop a computer tool to facilitate coronary CTA analysis by combining knowledge of medicine and image processing. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Quantification of Arterial Wall with MRI and Image Processing

    Författare :Mari Hänni; Torbjörn Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiology; image processing; Magnetic resonance imaging; animal model; arterial wall; Radiologisk forskning; atherosclerosis; Radiological research; Radiologisk forskning; Diagnostisk radiologi; Diagnostic Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : Quantification of atherosclerosis in vivo in animal models is of great importance when treatments against atherosclerosis are evaluated. In the studies presented in this thesis a non-invasive method combining MRI and image processing is evaluated. LÄS MER
