1. Androgen controlled regulatory systems in prostate cancer : potential new therapeutic targets and prognostic markers
Sammanfattning : BACKGROUND: Prostate cancer is by far the most common cancer among Swedish men. Some patients have an aggressive lethal disease, but the majority of affected men have long expected survival. Unfortunately, the diagnostic tools available are insufficient in predicting disease aggressiveness. Novel prognostic markers are therefore urgently needed. LÄS MER

3. Tumor instructed normal tissue : studies of potential extratumoral biomarkers and therapeutic targets in prostate cancer
Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in Sweden and but luckily the majority of the patients will carry on their life without any consequences from the disease. Unfortunately, some will develop aggressive tumors and eventually die. LÄS MER
4. α1-microglobulin – Therapeutic opportunities in kidney and erythrocyte pathology
Sammanfattning : Oxidative stress is defined as an imbalance between oxidants and antioxidants. The reasons behind the condition are diverse, and can result in, or contribute to, the severity of many diseases. The body has different protective mechanisms to reduce the oxidative burden, among them a protein called α1-microglobulin (A1M). LÄS MER
5. Investigations of Proneural Glioblastoma to Identify Novel Therapeutic Targets
Sammanfattning : Malignant glioma is a highly lethal and destructive disease with no proper cure. We have investigated some of the hallmarks of cancer in connection to glioma and found ways to disrupt these and prevent tumor growth. The work is done within the context of a glioma subtype distinguished by activation of PDGF signaling termed the proneural subtype. LÄS MER
