6. Oxidation of terpenes in indoor environments : A study of influencing factors
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the oxidation of monoterpenes by O3 and NO2 and factors that influenced the oxidation were studied. In the environment both ozone (O3) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) are present as oxidising gases, which causes sampling artefacts when using Tenax TA as an adsorbent to sample organic compounds in the air. 7. Climatic conditions inside nuclear reactor containments - Monitoring campaign
Sammanfattning : The reactor containment is one of the most important buildings at a nuclear power plant. In case of an accident the containment wall is the final protection against radioactive leakage to the surrounding environment. A reactor containment contains different types of concrete structures. 8. Moisture Conditions in High Performance Concrete. Mathematical Modelling and Measurements
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis has been focused on developing a model to calculate the moisture conditions in concrete of low water/binder ratio (W/B) which is normally used in high performance concrete. To do this, the moisture conditions in high performance concrete have been studied, from a very early age. LÄS MER
9. In-plane mechanical properties of acetylated birch plywood and its response to humidity elevation
Sammanfattning : Due to the recent flourish of modern timber structures, there is an increasing demand for engineered wood products (EWPs). However, outdoor exposure of EWPs often poses a risk of durability-related issues. LÄS MER
10. Effect of water contamination on the diffused content of hydrogen under stress in AISI-52100 bearing steel
Sammanfattning : Abstract Hydrogen embrittlement is a degradation process of mechanical/tribological properties (toughness, wear etc.) of mating steel surfaces. This is caused by the presence and interaction of hydrogen with applied stresses. Therefore, it is important to quantify the hydrogen content which could be dissolved under applied stresses in steel.
