1. Sentinel Node Biopsy in Breast Cancer : Clinical and Immunological Aspects
Sammanfattning : The most important prognostic factor in breast cancer is the axillary lymph node status. The sentinel node biopsy (SNB) is reported to stage the axilla with an accuracy > 95 % in early breast cancer. Tumour-related perturbation of T-cell function has been observed in patients with malignancies, including breast cancer. LÄS MER
2. Design and Performance of Diversity based Wireless Interfaces for Sensor Network Nodes
Sammanfattning : The main focus of the work presented in this licentiate thesis concerns antenna design, adaptive antenna control and investigation on how the performance of small wireless nodes can be increased by inclusion of multiple antennas. In order to provide an end-user suitable solution for wireless nodes the devices require both small form factor and good performance in order to be competitive on the marked and thus the main part of this thesis focuses on techniques developed to achieve these goals. 3. Integrated Access and Backhaul for 5G and Beyond (6G)
Sammanfattning : Enabling network densification to support coverage-limited millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies is one of the main requirements for 5G and beyond. It is challenging to connect a high number of base stations (BSs) to the core network via a transport network. LÄS MER
4. Model-based Analysis of Temporal Patterns in Atrioventricular Node Conduction During Atrial Fibrillation
Sammanfattning : The lifetime risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AF) is estimated to be between 1in 3 to 1 in 4 individuals, making it the most common arrhythmia in the world. For persistent AF, rate control drugs with the purpose to affect the conduction properties of the atrioventricular (AV) node are the most common treatment. 5. Predictors of Lymph Node Metastasis in Primary Breast Cancer - Risk Models for Tailored Axillary Management
Sammanfattning : Most patients with breast cancer present with low-risk tumors, node-negative disease, and excellent prognosis. For these patients, routine axillary nodal staging by sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) has no therapeutic benefit. For patients with limited sentinel lymph node metastasis, completion axillary nodal dissection is controversial. LÄS MER
