  1. 11. Voltammetric properties of olsalazine sodium and some related compounds

    Författare :Alf Eriksson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Olsalazine sodium; electrochemistry; oxidation; reduction; azosalicylic compounds; aminosalicylic acids; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The voltammetric properties of Olsalazine sodium, seven other azosalicylic acids and the azoxy analogue of Olsalazine sodium have been studied in aqueous solutions mainly by cyclic voltammetry and constant potential coulometry. It was found that these compounds can all be both reduced and oxidised at a glassy carbon electrode. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Microbial Electrochemical System: extracellular electron transfer from photosynthesis and respiration to electrode

    Författare :Kamrul Hasan; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biological photovoltaics; electron transfer; electrode; Rhodobacter capslatus; thylakoid membranes; cyanobacteria; algae; photosynthesis; light; photocurrent; electrochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The electrochemical communication between microorganisms and electrodes has substantial implications both for basic understanding of biological electron transfer as well as in diverse applications, such as, microbial electrochemical system (MES), microbial biosensors and in production of valuable chemicals. In these systems the extracellular electron transfer (EET) from microbial metabolism to electrodes is restricted due to the insulated cellular exterior made of lipid structures. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Studies of Electrocatalytic Reactions of NADH at Mediator Modified Electrodes and of H2O2 at Peroxidase Modified Electrodes

    Författare :Florentina Munteanu; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electrochemistry; Elektrokemi; kinetic studies; silica gel; titanium phoshate; zirconium phosphate; NADH; redox mediator; phenolic compounds; hydrogen peroxide; electron transfer; graphite and carbon paste electrodes; peroxidase; biosensor;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses: (1) studies of direct and mediated electron transfer and kinetics of peroxidases on electrodes and the development of amperometric peroxidase-based biosenors, (2) electrochemical and kinetic studies of NADH oxidation at mediator modified electrodes. The direct and mediated electron transfer of horseradish and tobacco peroxidase were investigated on graphite electrodes by using wall-jet electrode methodology. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Electrochemical monitoring of living cells

    Författare :Christer Spegel; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PC12; redox; electrochemistry; NAD P H; Single cell; Microchip; S. cerevisiae;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the utilization of electroanalytical methods for analysis of dynamic cellular processes such as exocytosis, intracellular redox reactions and cell surface interactions. Microchips have been designed and manufactured with the purpose of monitoring dopamine exocytosis from single or a small ensemble of PC12 cells. LÄS MER

  5. 15. New Approaches for Chemical Analysis of Single Cells and Vesicles

    Författare :Johan Dunevall; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Electrochemistry; Analytical chemistry; Chemistry; Exocytosis; Catecholamines;

    Sammanfattning : Exocytosis is the major cell-to-cell communication process in the nervous system, involving the conversion of an electrical signal (e.g. action potential) to a chemical one. Signaling molecules like neurotransmitters, hormones and/or peptides are stored in vesicles inside the cell. LÄS MER
