1. On the Surface of Conducting Polymers : Electrochemical Switching of Color and Wettability in Conjugated Polymer Devices
Sammanfattning : Since the discovery in 1977 that conjugated polymers can be doped to achieve almost metallic electronic conduction, the research field of conducting polymers has escalated, with applications such as light emitting diodes, solar cells, thin film transistors, electrochemical transistors, logic circuits and sensors. The materials can be chemically modified during their synthesis in order to tailor the desired mechanical, electronic and optical properties of the final product. LÄS MER
2. Lithium intercalation in tin oxide films : Physics and electrochemistry
Sammanfattning : Tin oxide films were made by reactive rf magnetron sputtering under conditions that led to both electronic and ionic conductivity. It was found that a high sputter pressure promoted porosity and a high charge capacity. LÄS MER
3. Electrochemistry of Heme Containing Enzymes - Fundamentals and Applications
Sammanfattning : The thesis is a bioelectrochemical study of heme enzymes, mainly peroxidases and cellobiose dehydrogenases (CDH). It covers both fundamental and applied aspects, viz. studies of the direct electron transfer and kinetics of enzymes on electrodes, and the development of amperometric enzyme-based biosensors. 4. Combining Electrochemistry and Photoelectron Spectroscopy for the Study of Li-ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : In this thesis photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) is combined with electrochemistry to investigate the electrochemical processes that occur at the electrode/electrolyte interfaces in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). LIB systems are studied by the use of both ex situ PES, where electrodes are electrochemically pre-cycled and subsequently measured by PES, and operando PES, where electrodes are cycled during PES measurements. 5. Fundamental Insights into the Electrochemistry of Tin Oxide in Lithium-Ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to provide insight into the fundamental electrochemical processes taking place when cycling SnO2 in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Special attention was paid to the partial reversibility of the tin oxide conversion reaction and how to enhance its reversibility. LÄS MER
