  1. 21. Dynamics in Ceria and Related Materials from Molecular Dynamics and Lattice Dynamics

    Författare :Anders Gotte; Kersti Hermansson; Micael Baudin; Anatoly Belonoshko; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Inorganic chemistry; molecular dynamics; diffusion; surface dynamics; ionic surfaces; Oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : In discussions of heterogeneous catalysis and other surface-related phenomena, the dynamical properties of the catalytic material are often neglected, even at elevated temperatures. An example is the three-way catalyst (TWC), used for treatment of exhaust gases from combustion engines operating at several hundred degrees Celsius. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Chemistry has a tremendous impact on everyone’s life, although society does not always realize its power and ubiquity. In recent years, improved economy and sustainability of chemical processes has become a worldwide priority. LÄS MER

  3. 23. New Roads for an Ancient Enzyme : Whole-Cell Studies and New Cofactors for [FeFe] Hydrogenases

    Författare :Marco Lorenzi; Gustav Berggren; Hannah Shafaat; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; [FeFe] hydrogenases; hydrogen; catalysis; photocatalysis; spectroscopy; whole-cell; semi-artificial enzymes; Chemistry with specialization in Molecular Biomimetics; Kemi med inriktning mot molekylär biomimetik;

    Sammanfattning : [FeFe] hydrogenases rare Nature’s best H2-processing catalysts, and one of the best candidates to satisfy societal need for cheap and efficient catalyst for H2-evolution. These enzymes owe their remarkable catalytic activities to their organometallic active site, called “H-cluster”. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Atomic Layer Deposition and Immobilised Molecular Catalysts Studied by In and Ex Situ Electron Spectroscopy

    Författare :Payam Shayesteh; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []

    Sammanfattning : The research work that I describe in my thesis deals with three different heterogenisation approaches for synthesising a heterogeneous transition metal catalyst used for direct C-H activation reactions. The three heterogenisation approaches considered in my research are: (1) heterogenisation of a molecular catalyst on a polymer support using covalent bonds, (2) heterogenisation of a catalyst on a reduced graphene oxide (rGO) support using non-covalent interactions and (3) immobilisation of a catalyst on an inorganic surface using covalent bonds and encapsulation in an inorganic matrix. Författare :Zheng Wang; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Molecular sieve films and colloidal particles may have great potential for further utilization in novel technological sophisticated applications such as structured catalysts, sensors and membranes. The work presented in this thesis concerns the synthesis molecular sieve films and the crystallization of zoned MFI materials for novel catalyst and sensor applications. LÄS MER
