  1. 6. Hydrolytic and oxidative catalytic activities of bio-inspired dinuclear metal complexes

    Författare :Biswanath Das; Kemisk fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bioinorganic Chemistry; Metalloenzymes; Catalyst; Transition states; Phosphoesterase;

    Sammanfattning : A number of homo- and heterodinuclear complexes have been synthesized as structural and functional models for the the active sites of phosphoesterases and soluble methane monooxygenases. The complexes are based on four new dinucleating ligands containing a central, potentially bridging, phenolate moiety. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Potential Electrocatalysts for Water Splitting Devices : A Journey Through the Opportunities and Challenges of Catalyst Classes

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electrocatalysis; Electrolyzer cell; HER catalyst; OER catalyst; Water splitting; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis work, different classes of catalysts and their suitability for integration into an electrolyzer cell has been investigated.Ruthenium based molecular catalysts have shown high activities and stabilities towards water oxidation in neutral pH. Especially the oligomeric catalysts exhibited a superior performance. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Novel electrode and photoelectrode materials for hydrogen production based on molecular catalysts

    Författare :Andrew J. Bagnall; Leif Hammarström; Vincent Artero; Sascha Ott; Alexander Cowan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electrochemical mechanism; hydrogen; artificial photosynthesis; molecular catalyst; hydrogen evolution; cobalt; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The PhD project focussed on the application of a cobalt tetraazamacrocyclic complex, in the literature commonly referred to as [Co(CR)Cl2]+ as a molecular catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). This was within the broader scope of the EU MSCA H2020 ITN ‘eSCALED’ project, which primarily aimed to create artificial leaf devices for the storage of solar energy in chemical fuels and, as part of this, sought the development of novel bio-inspired and scalable materials. 5. 10. Mononuclear Ruthenium Complexes that Catalyze Water to Dioxgen Oxidation

    Författare :Lianpeng Tong; Licheng Sun; Randolph Thummel; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ruthenium complex; Homogeneous catalysis; Water oxidation; O2 evolution; anionic ligand; Molecular catalyst; Electrocatalysis; Kinetics; Artificial photosynthesis; Light-driven; Immobilization of catalyst;

    Sammanfattning : The theme of this thesis is the development of mononuclear Ru-based complexes that are capable of catalyzing the water oxidation (or O2-evolving) reaction, e.g. 2 H2O → O2 + 4 H+ + 4 e−. Several families of mononuclear Ru water oxidation catalysts were designed and prepared. LÄS MER
