1. Modelling the early to mid-Holocene Arctic climate
Sammanfattning : In the recent past it has become evident that the Earth's climate is changing, and that human activity play a significant role in these changes. One of the regions where the ongoing climate change has been most evident is in the Arctic: the surface temperature has increased twice as much in this region as compared to the global average, in addition, a significant decline in the Arctic sea-ice extent has been observed in the past decades. 4. Mid-Holocene mineral dust deposition in raised bogs in southern Sweden : Processes and links
Sammanfattning : Atmospheric mineral dust is a key component of the climate system, which affects insolation, brings nutrients to marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and acts as a cloud condensation nuclei. To reconstruct past patterns in terrestrial dust deposition natural archives may be utilized, such as loess, dunes, lakes, and peat bogs. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I used two coastal sediment sequences from SE Sweden to study how Baltic Sea coastal environment has changed since the mid-Holocene. The results show the coastal environment has been influenced by multi-stressors, such as climate change, shoreline regression and anthropogenic activities. LÄS MER
