  1. 1. Early Pottery Use among Hunter-Gatherers around the Baltic Sea

    Författare :Vasiliki Papakosta; Sven Isaksson; Ole Stilborg; Åsa Maria Larsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Early Pottery Use; Hunter-Gatherers; Baltic; Late Mesolithic; Ceramics; Ertebølle; Narva; Early Comb Ware; Lipid Extraction; Lipid Residue Analysis; Molecular Analysis; Stable Carbon Isotope Analysis; Elemental Analysis; Mineralogical Analysis; arkeologi med inriktning mot laborativ arkeologi; Scientific Archaeology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to provide an understanding of the dynamics underlying the adoption of pottery by pre-agrarian hunter-gatherer cultural groups around the Baltic Sea. The focus is on three approximately contemporaneous early pottery traditions of the region (ca. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Tethered Lipid Vesicles as Nanoscale Sensor Elements

    Författare :Seyed Tabaei; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aquaglyceroporin; lipid vesicles; total internal reflection fluorescence TIRF microscopy; cell membrane; aquaporin; pore formation; surface plasmon resonance SPR ; phospholipase A2; antiviral peptide; lipid bilayer; biosensing; microfluidics;

    Sammanfattning : The primary aim of this thesis work has been to explore and advance the potential of surface tethered lipid vesicles as a platform for studying in particular the following three biomembrane-related processes: trans-membrane transport, membrane-peptide interactions and the activity of membrane active enzymes. First, a method based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy was developed for studying passive diffusion processes as well as the membrane-protein mediated transport of small non electrolyte molecules across lipid bilayers. 4. 4. Systems Biology of Yeast Lipid Metabolism

    Författare :Pramote Chumnanpuen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transcriptome; Integrated analysis; Lipidome.; Inositol-choline; Opi1; Yeast lipid metabolism; high throughput techniques; Ino4; TORC1; Snf1; Ino2;

    Sammanfattning : Lipid metabolism plays an important role in the development of many different life-style related diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and atherosclerosis, and understanding the molecular mechanisms behind regulation of lipid biosynthesis and degradation may lead to development of new therapies. In this project we undertook a global study of lipid metabolism in the eukaryotic model organism Saccharomyces cerevisiae. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Spatial analysis of lipids in tissue samples applying mass spectrometry imaging
