  1. 6. Regulation of UV induced apoptosis in human melanocytes

    Författare :Cecilia Bivik; Inger Rosdahl; Karin Öllinger; Maria Shoshan; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; apoptosis; UV; melanocyte; lysosome; cathepsin; Bcl-2; Bax; Hsp70; JNK; Dermatology and venerology; Dermatologi och venerologi;

    Sammanfattning : Malignant melanoma arises from the pigment producing melanocytes in epidermis and is the most aggressive type of skin cancer. The incidence of malignant melanoma is increasing faster than any other type of cancer in white population worldwide, with a doubling rate every 10-20 years. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Chemical and Clinical Studies of Isocyanate Contact Allergy with focus on diphenylmethane diisocyanate

    Författare :Malin Engfeldt; Yrkes- och miljödermatologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; venereologi; Dermatologi; venereology; Dermatology; occupational; allergic contact dermatitis; polyurethane;

    Sammanfattning : Isocyanates are highly reactive compounds used in the production of polyurethane. Exposure to isocyanates is mainly associated with respiratory disorders, but may also result in allergic contact dermatitis. Reports describing contact allergy to isocyanates are few in number and it has been considered a rare phenomenon. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Towards a broader use of phototesting : in research, clinical practice and skin cancer prevention

    Författare :Magnus Falk; Chris Anderson; Karin Wårdell; Olle Lärkö; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Phototesting; divergent beam; skin cancer prevention; self-reading; minimal erythema dose; sun protection behaviour; Dermatology and venerology; Dermatologi och venerologi;

    Sammanfattning : In western societies, skin cancer incidence has increased dramatically over recent decades, due predominantly to increased sun exposure habits. Ultraviolet (UV) light exposure and individual light sensitivity of the skin constitute two important factors affecting the risk for skin cancer development. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Methylisothiazolinones. Diagnosis and prevention of allergic contact dermatitis

    Författare :Birgitta Gruvberger; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; venereology; Dermatologi; Dermatology; Prevention.; Chemical burns; Occupational dermatoses; Allergic contact dermatitis; Guinea pig maximization test; Isolation identification of contact sensitizers; Inactivation; Methylisothiazolinones; Kathon® CG; venereologi;

    Sammanfattning : Preservatives are biologically active substances which are required in water-based products/systems to prevent growth of micro-organisms. Kathon® CG (K-CG), one of several preservatives based on 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolinon-3-one (MCI) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MI) has been shown to be a common sensitizer in dermatitis patients.     Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Psoriasis; Systemic treatments; Biologic treatments; PASI; DLQI; Register-based research; Dermatology and Venerology; dermatologi och venereologi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Psoriasis is a heterogeneous disease with several clinical manifestations; the symptoms are characterized by redness, scaliness and thickness of the skin. There are several treatment options available for psoriasis and patients with moderate to severe psoriasis generally need systemic agents. LÄS MER
