26. Visualizing Interacting Biomolecules In Situ
Sammanfattning : Intra- and intercellular information is communicated by posttranslational modifications (PTMs) and protein-protein interactions, transducing information over cell membranes and to the nucleus. A cells capability to respond to stimuli by several highly complex and dynamic signaling networks provides the basis for rapid responses and is fundamental for the cellular collaborations required in a multicellular organism. 27. Dissecting gene expression regulation in mouse embryonic stems
Sammanfattning : Every cell within an organism is derived from a single fertilized egg that undergoes cellular differentiation and development to generate mature specialized cells. Mouse embryonic stem cells (ESCs) derived from the inner cell mass (ICM) of the pre-implantation blastocyst have proven to be a model to study gene expression during differentiation and development. 28. Coiled coil Cytoskeleton in Bacterial Cell Architecture : Studies of Growth and Development in Streptomyces
Sammanfattning : Bacterial cytoskeleton is an exciting and relatively new field of research. Recent findings have proven that microbes are well-organized and neatly structured organisms. LÄS MER
29. Mitochondrial and Eukaryotic Origins : A Phylogenetic Perspective
Sammanfattning : Mitochondria are eukaryotic cellular organelles responsible for power-generation, believed to have come into existence by an endo-symbiontic event where a bacterial cell was incorporated by an un-specified "proto-eukaryote". Phylogenetic analysis have shown that the mitochondrial ancestor was most related to present-day alpha-proteobacteria, although the exact nature of the mitochondrial progenitor remains disputed. 30. Drosophila skeletal muscles regulate the cellular immune response against wasp infection
Sammanfattning : Drosophila melanogaster is widely used as a model organism to study the innate immune system because it lacks an adaptive immune response that could mask its innate immune response. The innate immune response of Drosophila primarily consists of humoral and cellular immune responses. LÄS MER
