  1. 1. Norbornadienes for Solar Thermal Energy Storage and New Applications

    Författare :Ambra Dreos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thermal energy storage; molecular logic; Solar energy; molecular switch- es; energy conversion; quadricyclane; molecular keypad locks; norbornadiene;

    Sammanfattning : The energy demand worldwide is steadily increasing, therefore it is fundamental to efficiently utilise renewable energy resources. Energy storage technologies are partic- ularly relevant in order to be able to exploit renewable energy resources such as solar energy, since these are typically intermittent and not evenly distributed. 2. 2. Electrified Integrated Kinetic Energy Storage

    Författare :Magnus Hedlund; Hans Bernhoff; Markus Mueller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flywheel energy storage; magnetic bearings; carbon composite; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Sammanfattning : The electric car is a technically efficient driveline, although it is demanding in terms of the primary energy source. Most trips are below 50 km and the mean power required for maintaining speed is quite low, but the system has to be able to both provide long range and high maximum power for acceleration. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Conjoined piezoelectric harvesters and carbon supercapacitors for powering intelligent wireless sensors

    Författare :Henrik Staaf; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electrode material; coupled resonators; selftuning; Kinetic harvesting; Intelligent wireless sensor; piezoelectric energy harvesting; Supercapacitor; carbon nanomaterials;

    Sammanfattning : To achieve total freedom of location for intelligent wireless sensors (IWS), these need to be autonomous. To achive this today there is a need of broadband piezoelectric energy harvesting and a long-lasting energy. The Harvester need to be able to provide sufficient amount of energy for the intelligent wireless sensor to perform its task. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Kinetic Energy Storage and Magnetic Bearings : for Vehicular Applications

    Författare :Johan Abrahamsson; Hans Bernhoff; Urban Lundin; Richard Magdalena Stephan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flywheel; magnetic bearing; energy storage; electric vehicle; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Sammanfattning : One of the main challenges in order to make electric cars competitive with gas-powered cars is in the improvement of the electric power system. Although many of the energy sources currently used in electric vehicles have sufficientlyhigh specific energy, their applicability is limited due to low specific power. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Bio-coal for the sustainable industry : A scientific approach to optimizing production, storage, and usages

    Författare :Aekjuthon Phounglamcheik; Kentaro Umeki; Markus Broström; Capucine Dupont; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Bio-coal produced from biomass is a promising material to replace fossil coal in order to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emission from the industrial sector. Bio-coal with quality comparable to that of fossil coal can be produced by high-temperature pyrolysis at ≥500 ºC, but the production efficiency is relatively low due to low bio-coal yield at high pyrolysis temperatures.
