  1. 1. Development and aging of nerve fibres in the rat inferior alveolar nerve

    Författare :Carina S. Johansson; Claes Nordberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Structural and functional properties of nerve fibres in the rat inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) were examined during development and aging.Rat molar pulpal expllints influence neurite outgrowth from perinatal rat trigeminal ganglion explants, eo-cultured in vitro. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On inferior alveolar nerve function after sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible

    Författare :Anders Westermark; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :mandibular nerve; neurosensory disturbance; sagittal split osteotomy;

    Sammanfattning : Osteotomies of the mandible are designed to adjust improper jaw positions. While vertical ramus osteotomy can be used for mandibular setback but not for mandibular advancement, sagittal split osteotomy can be used to move the lower jaw in both directions and this surgical technique also permits mobility of the lower jaw immediately after surgery. 3. 3. On Factors Influencing the Clinical Outcome in Orthognathic Surgery

    Författare :Fredrik Widar; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Orthognathic surgery; Intermaxillary fixation; Iatrogenic root damage; Osteotomy; Sagittal split ramus; Steroid; Hypoesthesia; Inferior alveolar nerve; Risk factors; Smoking; Anaesthesia; Haemodynamic; Remifentanil; Ropivacaine; Recovery;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Background. Orthognathic surgery means surgical correction of dentofacial and congenital deformities, which includes unsatisfactory facial aesthetics, malpositioned teeth, jaw moutcome osurgery. Developments within the invasive surgery and pharmacological modification of inflammatory responses. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Structure and function of trigeminal primary sensory neurons after peripheral nerve injury

    Författare :Ulf Bongenhielm; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :ankyrinG; chronic constriction injury; electron microscopy; electrophysiology; hyperexcitability; immunocytochemistry; inferior alveolar nerve; in situ hybridisation; nerve injury; neuroma; SNS PN3; sodium channel; trigeminal ganglion;

    Sammanfattning : Iatrogenic injuries to branches of the trigeminal nerve are common during surgical procedures in the jaws and teeth, and as the repercussion of facial fractures or certain pathologies. A portion of these patients are left with disturbed sensory functions, and some with unpleasant abnormal sensations, including pain. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Factors affecting neurosensory disturbances after mandibular osteotomies. Clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Awwad Al-Bishri; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mandible; Osteotomy;

    Sammanfattning : Sensibilitetsnedsättning är en vanlig komplikation till kirurgisk korrigering av käkställningsfel i mandibeln speciellt vid användande av sagittal split teknik. Med denna teknik är risken för skada av n. LÄS MER
