  1. 1. Phylogeny and Taxonomy of Childia (Acoela) : New characters for unraveling acoel phylogenies from molecules, ultrastructure, immunocytochemistry and confocal microscopy

    Författare :Yonas Isaak Tekle; Ulf Jondelius; Mikael Thollesson; Isabel Sanmartin; Kennet Lundin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Biology; Childiidae; Childia; Paraphanostoma; Acoela; phylogeny; taxonomy; morphology; 18S rRNA; 28S rRNA; Histone H3; ultrastructure; confocal; phalloidin; immunocytochemistry; Biologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a comprehensive phylogenetic and taxonomic study of an acoel subgroup, the Childiidae. Members of this taxon are characterized by well-developed male copulatory organs with conical/cylindrical stylets. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Monoclonal antibodies against human papillomavirus E7 oncoprotein for diagnosis of cervical neoplasia and cancer

    Författare :Maria Lidqvist; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Nyckelord :Human papillomavirus HPV ; Cervical cancer; Cervical neoplasia; E7 oncoprotein; Monoclonal antibodies; Cytology; Immunocytochemistry; Phage display;

    Sammanfattning : Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women worldwide with half a million of new cases every year. Cervical cancer is caused by oncogenic human papillomaviruses (HPVs), with HPV16 and 18 being the most frequently detected types. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Ion transport in exocrine glands with reference to cystic fibrosis

    Författare :Ailing Zhang; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; ion transport; cystic fibrosis; submandibular gland; airway submucosal gland; X-ray microanalysis; cytosolic Ca2 concentration; immunocytochemistry; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; Human Anatomy; anatomi;

    Sammanfattning : Aspects of ion transport in rat submandibular gland acinar cells at the subcellular level, and the regulation of chloride secretion and calcium mobilization in cultured pig tracheal gland acinar cells were studied with reference to the disease cystic fibrosis.In adult rat submandibular gland acinar cells, both cholinergic and α-adrenergic stimulation induced efflux of K+ and of C1-, but the response was generally less with α-adrenergic stimulation. 4. 4. Pituitary adenylate cyclase activating peptide: a neuropeptide in the sensory nervous system

    Författare :Yanzhen Zhang; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; in situ hybridization; immunocytochemistry; peptide expression; inflammation; nerve injury; axotomy; capsaicin; pain; nociceptive; formalin test; C-fibres; sensory neurons; spinal cord; dorsal root ganglia; mRNA; neuropeptides; VIP; SP; PACAP; CGRP; Northern blot; rat; Neurology; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the expression of pituitary adenylate cyclase activating peptide (PACAP) in sensory C-type cells and primary afferent fibres and its possible role in nociceptive transmission. PACAP-expression, -release, -synthesis and -function were investigated in a series of measurements using immunocytochemistry, radioimmunoassay, in situ hybridization histochemistry, Northern blot, electrophysiology, superficial spinal perfusion and nerve injury. Sammanfattning : Introduction: The extraocular muscles (EOMs) are considered a separate class of skeletal muscle, allotype. Myosin is the major contractile protein in muscle. The myosin heavy chain (MyHC) isoforms are the best molecular markers of functional heterogeneity of muscle fibers. LÄS MER
