  1. 21. Mechanisms of Blister Formation on Concrete Bridge Decks with Waterprooving Asphalt Pavement Systems

    Författare :Biruk Wobeshet Hailesilassie; Björn Birgisson; Lars-Olof Nilsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; blister growth; PBM waterproofing membrane; orthotropic material; biaxial test; peeling test; elliptical blister growth;

    Sammanfattning : Bridge decks are commonly subjected to harsh environmental conditions that often lead to serious corrosion problems triggered by blisters under the hot mix asphalt bridge deck surfacing and secretly evolving during weather exposure until damage is often detected too late. Blisters may form under both the waterproofing dense mastic asphalt layer or under the waterproofing membrane which is often applied as additional water protection under the mastic asphalt (MA). 2. 22. Fatigue crack growth in fiber metal laminates : experiment and modeling

    Författare :Per Hofslagare; Michel van Tooren; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Fiber Metal Laminates (FML) is a class of materials with highly resistant fatigue behavior, developed primary for the aerospace industry. The laminates are comprised of alternating layers of high strength aluminwn sheet and fiber reinforced polymers. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Fatigue of Heavy-Vehicle Engine Materials : Damage Mechanisms, Laboratory Experiments and Life Estimation

    Författare :Viktor Norman; Johan Moverare; Peter Skoglund; Daniel Leidermark; Tilmann Beck; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Due to increasing demands on sustainability exerted by end-costumers and policy makers, heavyvehicle manufacturers are urged to increase the engine efficiency in order to reduce the exhaust gas emission. However, increasing the efficiency is also associated with an elevated fatigue rate of the materials constituting the engine parts, which consequently reduces the engine service life. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Modelling of Delamination Growth in Composite Structures

    Författare :Niklas E. Jansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; large deformation; interface; composite materials; 3D-shell; cohesive zone; regularization; shell element; delamination;

    Sammanfattning : Delaminations constitute an important damage and failure mode in polymeric composite laminates. In order to explicitly incorporate and model the delamination progression within a finite element analysis, the meso-modelling concept is applied in the present work. The laminate is thereby represented by separate layers connected with interfaces. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Fatigue damage mechanisms in polymer matrix composites

    Författare :Kristofer Gamstedt; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Polymera konstruktionsmaterial; Polymeric Composite Materials;

    Sammanfattning : Polymer matrix composites are finding increased use in structural applications, in particular for aerospace and automotive purposes. Mechanical fatigue is the most common type of failure of structures in service. The relative importance of fatigue has yet to be reflected in design where static conditions still prevail. LÄS MER
