  1. 21. B- and T- cell responses in colectomized and healthy individuals after mucosal vaccination

    Författare :Jan Kilhamn; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; intestinal immunity; antibodies; interferon gamma production; ileostomy fluid; enteric vaccines; mucosal vaccination;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aims were to study the induction of intestinal and systemic B- and T-cell immune responses in patients colectomized due to ulcerative colitis and in healthy volunteers after mucosal administration of enteric vaccines. An inactivated B-subunit whole-cell (B-WC) cholera vaccine and a live attenuated Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi Ty21a vaccine were used as model immunogens. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Influence of recombinant passenger properties and process conditions on surface expression using the AIDA-I autotransporter

    Författare :Martin Gustavsson; Gen Larsson; Peter Neubauer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; AIDA-I; Autotransport; Biocatalysis; Escherichia coli; Live vaccines; Surface expression;

    Sammanfattning : Surface expression has attracted much recent interest, and it has been suggested for a variety of applications. Two such applications are whole-cell biocatalysis and the creation of live vaccines. LÄS MER

  3. 23. In vivo bioluminescence imaging in preclinical trials of genetic vaccines

    Författare :Stefan Petkov; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : DNA immunization is a rapidly developing vaccine platform for infectious diseases, cancer and allergies. The efficiency of DNA vaccination is largely determined by the efficiency of delivery and subsequent expression of genes encoding microbial and tumor antigens or allergens in the cells of vaccine recipients. 4. 24. In vivo bioluminescence imaging in preclinical trials of genetic vaccines

    Författare :Stefan Petkov; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : DNA immunization is a rapidly developing vaccine platform for cancer, infectious disease, and allergies. The efficiency of DNA vaccination is largely determined by the efficiency of delivery and subsequent expression of the HIV-1 genes in the cells. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Immune mechanisms that determine the quality of antibody responses to vaccines

    Författare :Gustaf Lindgren; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Effective vaccines for many dangerous infectious diseases are still lacking. An improved understanding of the mechanisms that determine the quality of vaccine responses is essential to guide future attempts to design effective vaccines. LÄS MER
