  1. 1. On folding of coated papers

    Författare :Christophe Barbier; Per-Lennart Larsson; Tetsu Uesaka; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; folding; coated papers; finite element method; cracking; indentation; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The mechanical behaviour of coated papers during folding has been investigated. This problem has been studied with experimental techniques and numerical analyses in order to give a better understanding of the folding properties of coated papers pertinent to the mechanical behaviour in general, and particularly cracking along the fold. 2. 2. Modelling Mechanics of Fibre Network using Discrete Element Method

    Författare :Per Bergström; Tetsu Uesaka; Charlotta Hanson; Kaarlo Niskanen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Low-density fibre networks are a fundamental structural framework of everyday hygiene products, such as baby diapers, incontinence and feminine care products, bathroom tissue and kitchen towels. These networks are a random assembly of fibres, loosely bonded and oriented in the plane direction. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Quantitative microscopy of coating uniformity

    Författare :Christina Dahlström; Tetsu Uesaka; Magnus Norgren; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Coating uniformity; coating microstructure uniformity; base sheet effects; argon ion beam milling; scanning electron microscopy; image analysis; binder distributions; autocorrelation analysis; random deposition process; simulation;

    Sammanfattning : Print quality demands for coated papers are steadily growing, and achieving coating uniformity is crucial for high image sharpness, colour fidelity, and print uniformity. Coating uniformity may be divided into two scales: coating thickness uniformity and coating microstructure uniformity, the latter of which includes pigment, pore and binder distributions within the coating layer. 5. 5. Striping on flexo post-printed corrugated board

    Författare :Martin Holmvall; Tetsu Uesaka; Joseph S Aspler; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Striping is the most common print non-uniformity on corrugated board. It is defined as periodic print density and/or print gloss variations parallel to the flutes. Corrugated boards are mainly printed with flexography, making striping a major concern for the flexographic post-printing industry. LÄS MER
