  1. 6. Power Amplifier Circuits in CMOS Technologies

    Författare :Jonas Fritzin; Atila Alvandpour; Henrik Sjöland; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The wireless market has experienced a remarkable development and growth since the introduction of the first mobile phone systems, with a steady increase in the number of subscribers, new application areas, and higher data rates. As mobile phones and wireless connectivity have become consumer mass markets, a prime goal of the IC manufacturers is to provide low-cost solutions. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Low-Power HEMT LNAs for Quantum Computing

    Författare :Yin Zeng; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low-noise amplifier; qubit; Cryogenic; InP HEMT.; quantum computing; low-power;

    Sammanfattning : The rapid development of quantum computing technology predicts much more qubits to handle in the detection, readout, and amplification of qubits than in today's system. Due to the limited cooling capability of the dilution refrigerator, the current low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) are in need of ten to hundred times reduced dc power consumption yet with lowest noise temperature at qubit readout frequencies, typcially 4-12 GHz. 3. 8. CMOS Transceiver Front-Ends in Mobile Communication Handsets : Architectures and Building Blocks

    Författare :Ellie Cijvat; Henrik Sjöland; Pietro Andreani; Pieternella Cijvat; Lund University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; RF CMOS; Wireless Communication; Receiver; Transmitter; Power Amplifier; Harmonic Distortion; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik; Telecommunication engineering; Telekommunikationsteknik; Electrotechnology; Elektroteknik alt Electrical engineering; RF CMOS; Wireless Communication; Receiver; Transmitter; Power Amplifier; Harmonic Distortion; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik; Telecommunication engineering; Telekommunikationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : For mobile communication systems in the low-GHz range, CMOS has increasingly become the technology of choice, and the level of integration in mobile handsets has risen. The use of off-chip components, which increases the handset assembly time and costs, is preferably avoided. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Characterization and Compensation of Hardware Impairments in Transmitters for Wireless Communications

    Författare :Zain Ahmed Khan; Peter Händel; Magnus Isaksson; Mikko Valkama; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Power amplifier; RF transmitters; SISO; MIMO; crosstalk; Volterra series; Volterra kernels; behavioral modeling; DPD; Ramanujan sums; multitone signals; I Q Imbalance; non-linearity; memory polynomial; density estimation; hardware impairments; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing demands for data rate, energy efficiency and reliability in wireless communications have resulted in the introduction of radio frequency (RF) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmitters. However, MIMO transmitters suffer from additional crosstalk impairments along with the power amplifier (PA) and I/Q imbalance distortions observed in single input single output (SISO) transmitters. 5. 10. Modeling and Compensation of Nonlinear Distortion in Multi-Antenna RF Transmitters

    Författare :Katharina Hausmair; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; multi-antenna transmitter; behavioral modeling; over-the-air characterization; digital predistortion; antenna crosstalk; linearization; power amplifier;

    Sammanfattning : Multi-antenna systems are utilized as a way to increase spectral efficiency in wireless communications. In a transmitter, the use of several parallel transmit paths and antennas increases system complexity and cost. Cost-efficient solutions, which employ active antenna arrays and avoid expensive isolators, are therefore preferred. LÄS MER
