21. Fabrication and Characterization of Superconductive Coplanar Waveguide Resonators : Fabrication and Characterization of Superconductive Coplanar Waveguide Resonators
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to evaluate a generic process for fabrication and characterization of the Superconductive coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonators. Superconductive CPW resonators with various lengths and shapes are designed to investigate their electrical and magnetic properties as well as resonance properties and sensitivities. LÄS MER
22. Multipactor in low pressure gas and in nonuniform rf field structures
Sammanfattning : Resonant electron multiplication in vacuum, multipactor, is analysed for several geometries where the RF electric field is nonuniform. In particular, it is shown that the multipactor behaviour in a coaxial line is both qualitatively and quantitatively different from that observed with the conventionally used simple parallel-plate model. 23. The synthetic chromosphere : Results and techniques with a numerical approach
Sammanfattning : Realistic numerical simulations of the solar atmosphere can be used to interpret different phenomena observed on the solar surface. To gain insight into the atmospheric physical conditions, we compare the observations with 3D radiative magnetohydrodynamic models combined with forward modeling (radiative transfer). LÄS MER
24. Spatial Mixture Models with Applications in Medical Imaging and Spatial Point Processes
Sammanfattning : Finite mixture models have proven to be a great tool for both modeling non-standard probability distributions and for classification problems (using the latent variable interpretation). In this thesis we are building spatial models by incorporating spatially dependent categorical latent random fields in a hierarchical manner similar to that of finite mixture models. LÄS MER
25. Dynamics of Rotors Influenced by Rubbing Contacts
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns theoretical studies of the dynamical behaviour of a rotor interacting with its non-rotating surroundings. Rotor-stator rubs make the rotor system strongly non-linear, which leads to phenomena that are not seen for ordinary rotors. LÄS MER
