  1. 6. Nanofiber networks, aerogels and biocomposites based on nanofibrillated cellulose from wood

    Författare :Houssine Sehaqui; Lars A. Berglund; Ton Peijs; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nanofibrillated cellulose; nanopaper; nanofiber; biocomposites; aerogel; foam; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) from wood is an interesting material constituent of high strength and high aspect ratio, which easily forms networks through interfibril secondary bonding including hydrogen bonds. This has been exploited in preparation of new materials, which extend the range of properties for existing cellulosic materials. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Modeling and Performance Analysis of Alternative Heat Exchangers for Heavy Vehicles

    Författare :Wamei Lin; Värmeöverföring; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Countercurrent flow; Graphite foam; Heat exchanger; Thermal performance; Computational fluid dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Cross flow heat exchangers made from aluminum are common as radiators in vehicles. However, due to the increasing power requirement and the limited available space in vehicles, it is extremely difficult to increase the size of heat exchangers (HEXs) placed in the front of vehicles. 3. 8. Experimental and Mathematical Study of Incompressible Fluid Flow through Ceramic Foam Filters

    Författare :Shahin Akbarnejad; Ragnhild Elizabeth Aune; Pӓr Jönsson; Andreas Westermoen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Ceramic Foam Filters (CFFs) are widely used to filter solid particles and inclusions from molten metal in metal production, particularly in the aluminum industry. In general, the molten metal is poured on the top of a ceramic foam filter until it reaches a certain height, also known as metal head or gravity head. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Ventilation Flow Field Characteristics of a Hydro-Generator Model- An experimental and Numerical Study

    Författare :Hamed Jamshidi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Naphthalene Sublimation Technique; Hydro Power Generator; Ventilation; Experiment; CFD;

    Sammanfattning : Hydro-generators are complex machines used to convert the mechanical energy of the water turbine into electrical energy. Electromagnetic and mechanical losses accompany this energy conversion process which will cause heat generation and temperature increase. Cooling systems are needed to remove this excess heat from hydro-generators. LÄS MER
