16. Acoustical properties of earplugs
Sammanfattning : In this study an experimental setup for measurements of high impedance objects in ducts, yielding the acoustical Two-Port properties of the object, is applied to earplugs. A frequently used experimental setup for measuring objective acoustical properties of earplugs is that of artificial ears. Great effort is spent on duplicating the human ear. LÄS MER
17. Characterization of the Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition Combustion Process
Sammanfattning : The main objective of this project was to characterize the HCCI combustion process. Central parts in the project were the progress of the HCCI combustion process, the influence of charge homogeneity on the combustion process and sources of UHC and CO emissions in HCCI combustion. 18. Modeling of coupled thermoplasticity at finite strains
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, models for simulation of inelastic phenomena, such as plastic anisotropy, texture evolution, void growth and phase transformation are presented. Special emphasized is put on the modeling of heat generation due to plastic work. All models are formulated within a thermodynamic framework that allows large deformations. LÄS MER
19. Effect of water contamination on the diffused content of hydrogen under stress in AISI-52100 bearing steel
Sammanfattning : Abstract Hydrogen embrittlement is a degradation process of mechanical/tribological properties (toughness, wear etc.) of mating steel surfaces. This is caused by the presence and interaction of hydrogen with applied stresses. Therefore, it is important to quantify the hydrogen content which could be dissolved under applied stresses in steel. 20. Strain-assisted corrosion cracking and growth rate inhibitors
Sammanfattning : A model for evolution of cracks as a result of strain-assisted corrosion is presented. The considered cracks possess a realistic geometry, where the tip region is an integral part of the crack surface instead of being a singular point. This geometry is either implicitly defined or is a consequence of crack nucleation from surface irregularities. LÄS MER
