1. Development of Accurate Reduced Order Models in a Simulation Tool for Turbomachinery Aeromechanical Phenomena
Sammanfattning : Modern gas turbines are still vulnerable to vibrations when operated at certain speeds. This unstable environment can lead to high cycle fatigue (HCF) and damage several of the components inside the turbine. LÄS MER
2. Attenuation of hand-held machine vibrations. Application of non-linear tuned vibration absorber
Sammanfattning : Vibration injury in the hand-arm system from vibrating hand-held machines is one of the most common occupational health injuries and causes severe and often chronic nerve and vascular injuries to the operator. The objective with this study is to contribute to reduce hand-arm vibration injuries, first by developing methods of redesigning machines that will lower their vibration level and second to study how high frequency vibrations (HFV) above 1250 Hz effect the finger tissue which are not included in the current standard for risk evaluation. 3. Fault detection in lambda-tuned control loops
Sammanfattning : Poorly operating control loops cause loss in productivity in almost every industry worldwide. Therefore performance monitoring has been an active area of research for the past decades. In this work, a newly developed fault detection method is applied to the monitoring of lambda-tuned control loops. LÄS MER
4. Diagnostic Accuracy of Tuned Aperture Computed Tomography (TACT®)
Sammanfattning : The diagnostic accuracy of Tuned Aperture Computed Tomography (TACT) was evaluated for a variety of diagnostic tasks. Drawbacks of 2D radiography, lack of accessibility and high cost associated with advanced imaging modalities prompted these studies. LÄS MER
5. galactmannan degradation by fungi and gut bacteria : structural enzymology and fine -tuned substrate specifcity
Sammanfattning : AbstractThe degradation of plant based β-mannan polysaccharides represents one of the many challenges efficiently tackled by microorganisms living in different habitats. In this thesis, glycoside hydrolases (GHs) involved in mannan degradation from two different organisms, Aspergillus nidulans (paper I and II) and Bacteroides ovatus (paper III and IV) were studied.
