11. System Interconnection Design Trade-offs in Three-Dimensional (3-D) Integrated Circuits
Sammanfattning : Continued technology scaling together with the integration of disparate technologies in a single chip means that device performance continues to outstrip interconnect and packaging capabilities, and hence there exist many difficult engineering challenges, most notably in power management, noise isolation, and intra and inter-chip communication. Significant research effort spanning many decades has been expended on traditional VLSI integration technologies, encompassing process, circuit and architectural issues to tackle these problems. 12. Virtual three-dimensional analysis of digitized dental impressions and stone replicas
Sammanfattning : In response to increasing patient awareness of esthetic dental rehabilitation, the preference today is for all-ceramic restorations, which show superior biocompatibility and similar light characteristics to the natural tooth. The fit of a dental restoration depends on quality throughout the entire manufacturing process. LÄS MER
13. Receptivity, Stability and Sensitivity analysis of two- and three-dimensional flows
Sammanfattning : This work deals with various aspects of boundary-layer stability. Modal and non-modal approaches are first used in the study of the global stability of a jet in crossflow. LÄS MER
14. Regulation of fibroblast activity by keratinocytes, TGF-β and IL-1α : studies in two- and three dimensional in vitro models
Sammanfattning : Dysregulated wound healing is commonly associated with excessive fibrosis. Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF/CCN2) is characteristically overexpressed in fibrotic diseases and stimulated by transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) in dermal fibroblasts. Reepithelialisation and epidermal wound coverage counteract excessive scar formation. LÄS MER
15. Novel RF MEMS Devices Enabled by Three-Dimensional Micromachining
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents novel radio frequency microelectromechanical (RF MEMS) circuits based on the three-dimensional (3-D) micromachined coplanar transmission lines whose geometry is re-configured by integrated microelectromechanical actuators. Two types of novel RF MEMS devices are proposed. LÄS MER
