    Sammanfattning : The primary purpose of the present study is to analyse the aesthetics, theory and practice of Los Volatineros, an independent theatre group, in the socio-political and cultural context of Buenos Aires in 1976-1989. The project Gender on Stage started as an interdisciplinary study between the National Academy of Mime and Acting in Stockholm and the Department of Theatre Studies and the Department of Nordic Languages at Stockholm University.     Sammanfattning : The present study focusses on the theatre audience, and on its’ role in the maintenance of the theatrical situation.
