  1. 1. Development of Substance P 1–7 Related Peptides and Peptidomimetics : Targeting Neuropathic Pain

    Författare :Anna Skogh; Anja Sandström; Christian Sköld; Rebecca Fransson; Philip Thompson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Substance P 1–7; Peptidomimetics; Solid-phase Peptide Synthesis SPPS ; Palladium catalysis; Carbonylation; Imidazole; Bioisostere; Neuropathic pain; Allodynia; Structure-activity relationships; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Sammanfattning : The neuropeptide substance P 1–7 (SP1–7, H-Arg1-Pro2-Lys3-Pro4-Gln5-Gln6-Phe7-OH) and its amidated analogue SP1–7 amide, have displayed intriguing effects in experimental models for neuropathic pain acting on a specific, yet unknown SP1–7 target. The aim of this thesis was to design and synthesise SP1–7 related peptides and peptidomimetics, to be used as research tools to study the SP1–7 system, and to serve as drug leads in the neuropathic pain area. 2. 2. Molecular Signatures of Neuropathic Pain : Revealing Pain-Related Signaling Processes in Spinal Cord Using Mass Spectrometric Methodologies

    Författare :Ping Sui; Jonas Bergquist; Konstantin Artemenko; Janne Lehtiö; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mass spectrometry; Spinal cord; Neuropathic pain; Quantitative proteomics; Imaging mass spectrometry; Kemi med inriktning mot analytisk kemi; Chemistry with specialization in Analytical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the detection of global proteomics alteration and changes in neuropeptide distribution caused by neuropathic pain in rat spinal cord tissue was the main focus. Neuropathic pain (NP) is a major clinical syndrome caused by disease or dysfunction of the nervous system and often mediated by neuronal networks in the spinal cord. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Neuropathic Pain; Quality of Life, Sensory Assessments and Pharmacological Treatments

    Författare :Ann Kvarnström; Torsten Gordh; Rolf Karlsten; Per Hansson; Uppsala universitet; []

  5. 5. Tetrodotoxin-resistant sodium channels in neuropathic pain

    Författare :Jenny Fjell Hjelmström; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :spinal sensory neurons; nociceptor; IB4; tetrodotoxin; sodium channels; SNS PN3; NaN SNS2; gene regulation; NGF; GDNF; in situ hybridization; immunofluorescence; sodium currents; neuropathic pain models; Taiep;

    Sammanfattning : Injury to the peripheral nervous system can cause neuropathic pain. Abnormal sodium channel activity has been implicated as a source of ectopic firing and changes in nociceptive threshold following nerve injury. LÄS MER
