1. Numerical simulation and analysis of multi-scale cavitating flows using a hybrid mixture-bubble model
Sammanfattning : The aim of this research is to model and analyse multi-scale cavitating flows with a certain emphasis on small sub-grid vapour structures. Cavitating flows include vapour structures with different length scales, from micro-bubbles to large cavities. LÄS MER
2. Multi-scale feature tracking and motion estimation
Sammanfattning : This thesis studies the problems of feature tracking and motion estimation and presents an application of these concepts to human-computer interaction. The presentation is divided into three parts. The first part addresses feature tracking in a multi-scale context. LÄS MER
3. Topographic Control of Groundwater Flow
Sammanfattning : Gravity is the main driving force for groundwater flow, and both landscape topography and geology distribute the effects of gravity on groundwater flow. The groundwater table defines the distribution of the potential energy of the water. LÄS MER
4. Discrete Scale-Space Theory and the Scale-Space Primal Sketch
Sammanfattning : This thesis, within the subfield of computer science known as computer vision, deals with the use of scale-space analysis in early low-level processing of visual information. The main contributions comprise the following five subjects:The formulation of a scale-space theory for discrete signals. LÄS MER
5. A Realizable Hybrid Mixture-Bubble Model for Cavitating Flows
Sammanfattning : Cavitating multi-phase flows include an extensive range of cavity structures with different length scales, from micro bubbles to large sheet cavities that may fully cover the surface of a device. To avoid high computational expenses, incompressible transport equation models are considered a practical option for simulation of large scale cavitating flows, normally with limited representation of the small scale vapour structures.
