  1. 1. Development of highly biocompatible neuro-electronic interfaces towards monitoring authentic neuronal signaling in the brain

    Författare :Johan Agorelius; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; BMI; brain machine interface; Neuro-electronic interface; neurophysiology; brain computer interface; biocompatibility; biocompatible neural interface; neural interface; histology; electrophysiology;

    Sammanfattning : Background: To understand how the neuronal circuits in the brain process information there is a need for novelneuro-electronic interfaces that can interact chronically with brain tissue with minimal disturbance of thephysiological conditions in the tissue, in awake and freely moving animals. For this, there is a need for implantableneuro-electronic interfaces that are mechanically compliant with the tissue and that can remain positionally stablewith respect to the neurons, despite the continuous micromotions in the brain. 2. 2. Deviation From Local Equilibrium During the Austenite to Ferrite Transformation in Steel-A Modelling Approach

    Författare :Joakim Odqvist; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Interface; Solute drag; Paraequilibrium; Simulation; Local Equilibrium;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis highlights the role of phase interfaces on phasetransformations in metallic materials. The deviation from localequilibrium at the moving phase interface has been analysed interms of solute drag theory and finite interface mobility. Inparticular the planar growth of proeutectoid ferrite fromaustenite in steel has been studied. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Finite element simulation of transformation plasticity in martensitic transformation

    Författare :Kjell Simonsson; Sören Sjöström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Phase transformations. transformation plasticity; micromechanical models; martensitic transformation; finite element simulations. thermodynamics; moving interface; mechanical dissipation; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : This study is concerned with the simulation of transformation plasticity in martensitic transformation. In the first paper the concept of a transformation plasticity strain is introduced from a phenomenological point of view. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Flow and Friction : On the Tactical Potential of Interfacing with Glitch Art

    Författare :Vendela Grundell; Anna Dahlgren; Mårten Snickare; Max Liljefors; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Glitch; Contemporary Art; Photography; Digital Media; Interface; Internet; Systems Aesthetics; Network Society; Tactics; Phenomenology; Spectatorship; Viewer; Experience; Rosa Menkman; Phillip Stearns; Evan Meaney; konstvetenskap; Art History;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to analyze how interfacing affects viewer experiences and viewer positions, and how glitch art online makes that effect visible. Glitch art is concerned with disruptions in the systems that govern how for instance photography is produced, circulated and displayed in a digital image flow. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Distributed Moving Base Driving Simulators : Technology, Performance, and Requirements

    Författare :Anders Andersson; Peter Fritzson; Jonas Jansson; Richard Romano; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Development of new functionality and smart systems for different types of vehicles is accelerating with the advent of new emerging technologies such as connected and autonomous vehicles. To ensure that these new systems and functions work as intended, flexible and credible evaluation tools are necessary. LÄS MER
