  1. 1. Structural Health Monitoring of Bridges : Model-free damage detection method using Machine Learning

    Författare :Cláudia Neves; Raid Karoumi; John Leander; Ignacio Gonzalez; Eleni Chatzi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Health Monitoring; Machine Learning; Damage detection; Model-free based method; Artificial Neural Networks; Gaussian Process; Cost optimization; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This is probably the most appropriate time for the development of robust and reliable structural damage detection systems as aging civil engineering structures, such as bridges, are being used past their life expectancy and beyond their original design loads. Often, when a significant damage to the structure is discovered, the deterioration has already progressed far and required repair is substantial. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A model-free voting approach to cue integration

    Författare :Carsten G. Bräutigam; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Vision systems, such as "seeing" robots, should be able tooperate robustly in generic environments. In this thesis, weinvestigate certain aspects of how these demands of robusmessof a systems approach to vision could be met. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Model-free execution monitoring in behavior-based mobile robotics

    Författare :Ola Pettersson; Alessandro Saffiotti; Lars Karlsson; Joachim Hertzberg; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datavetenskap; mobile robotics; execution monitoring; fault detection and isolation; diagnosis; data- och systemvetenskap; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Computer and Systems Science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In the near future, autonomous mobile robots are expected to assist us by performing service tasks in many different areas, including transportation, cleaning, mining, or agriculture. In order to manage these tasks in a changing and partially unpredictable environment, without the help of humans, the robot must have the ability to plan its actions and to execute them robustly and in a safe way. Sammanfattning : Biomass is the only renewable carbon source that can compete with fossil energy sources in terms of production of materials, chemicals and fuels. Biomass can be transformed into charcoal, liquid and gas through pyrolysis, i.e. pure thermal decomposition. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Molecular recognition and dynamics in proteins studied by NMR

    Författare :Johan Wallerstein; Biofysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemical exchange; Conformational entropy; Entropy; Galectin-3; Isothermal Titration Calorimetry; ITC; Model-free formalism; Molecular recognition; Nuclear Magnetic Resonance; NMR; PGB1; Protein dynamics; Protein–ligand interactions; Proton-transfer reactions; Spin relaxation; Viscosity; Chemical exchange; Conformational entropy; Entropy; Galectin-3; Isothermal Titration Calorimetry; ITC; Model-free formalism; Molecular recognition; Nuclear Magnetic Resonance; NMR; PGB1; Protein dynamics; Protein–ligand interactions; Proton-transfer reactions; Spin relaxation; Viscosity;

    Sammanfattning : Knowledge of dynamics in protein is very important in the description of protein function and molecular recognition. The thesis investigates protein dynamics on time-scales from milli- to sub-nanosecond, with focus on the latter, using NMR spin relaxation experiments on two proteins, the 138-residue carbohydrate recognition domain of galectin-3 (Gal3C) and the 56-residue B1 domain of bacterial protein G (PGB1).
