  1. 1. Upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor : modelling

    Författare :Raul Rodriguez; Luis Moreno; Olle Wahlberg; Gunno Renman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; wastewater; anaerobic treatment; modelling; UASB reactor.; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Anaerobic treatment is widely used around the world as a biological stage in both domestic and industrial wastewater-treatment plants. The two principal advantages of anaerobic over aerobic treatment are the production of biogas, which can be used as fuel, and the lower rate of biomass production, which results in lower maintenance costs for the plant. 2. 2. Studies in Glacier Mass Balance : Measurement and its errors

    Författare :Andrew Mercer; Peter Jansson; Gunhild Rosqvist; Ian Brown; Jonathan Carrivick; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Glaciology; Mass Balance; Measurement Errors; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : The study of the surface mass balance of valley glaciers has a long history but one that is dogged by uncertainty and errors, and uncertainty about those errors. These problems are acknowledged by the glaciological community and have been examined and formalised in several publications. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Response of glaciers to climate change : Mass balance sensitivity, sea level rise and runoff

    Författare :Mattias de Woul; Regine Hock; Peter Jansson; Margareta Hansson; Roger J. Braithwaite; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; glacier; mass balance modelling; mass balance sensitivity; sea level rise; glacial runoff; Hofsjökull; Storglaciären; Physical geography; Naturgeografi; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to enhance our understanding of the response of glaciers to climate change. Global sea level is affected by changes in glacier ice volume, and melt-water from glaciers is a principal water source in many regions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Appropriate Modelling Complexity: An Application to Mass Balance Modelling of Lake Vänern, Sweden

    Författare :Magnus Dahl; Lars Håkanson; David I Wilson; Gesa Weyhenmeyer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Lake Vänern; phosphorus; mass balance modelling; model complexity; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This work is about finding an appropriate modelling complexity for a mass-balance model for phosphorus in Lake Vänern, Sweden. A statistical analysis of 30 years of water quality data shows that epilimnion and hypolimnion have different water quality and should be treated separately in a model. Further vertical division is not motivated. LÄS MER
