1. Ethnocultural Empathy : Measurement, psychometric properties, and differences between students in health care education programmes
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to investigate empathy for persons from ethnical groups different than one’s own, an ability called ethnocultural empathy. A scale measuring ethnocultural empathy was translated and validated for a Swedish context and tested in a student sample, a majority of which were healthcare students. Three studies were performed. 2. Measuring occupational dust exposure with a passive sampler
Sammanfattning : Objectives: In a working environment it is important to measure dust exposure to evaluate possible health issues. Passive sampling could be an alternative to active sampling with pumps when measuring occupational dust exposure. One passive sampler is the University of North Carolina passive aerosol sampler (UNC sampler). LÄS MER
3. Hydrobatics: Real-time Control, Simulation and Learning for Underactuated AUVs in Agile Maneuvers
Sammanfattning : The term hydrobatics refers to the agile maneuvering of underwater vehicles. Underwater robots such as autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) are either designed as flight style, optimized for range and speed, or hover style, optimized for precise maneuverability. 4. (Nano)materials for electrochemical sensing applications in different fields
Sammanfattning : Health care and the medical industry, environmental monitoring and food sector are just a few examples of human’s major concerns. Design and analytical applications of (bio)sensors and sensing (nano)materials in these fields which have drawn tremendous attention by scientific community, require multidisciplinary knowledge in materials, transducers, and measurement methodologies. 5. Sustainable consumption for policymakers: measuring, learning and acting
Sammanfattning : Current patterns and levels of consumption are a key driver of unsustainable resource use and pollution, which contributes to global environmental degradation. Rapid reductions in environmental pressures are required to avoid irreversible loss of fragile ecosystems and social and economic crises. Consumption must become sustainable. LÄS MER
