1. Iron Losses in Electrical Machines - Influence of Material Properties, Manufacturing Processes, and Inverter Operation
Sammanfattning : As the major electricity consumer, electrical machines play a key role for global energy savings. Machine manufacturers put considerable efforts into the development of more efficient electrical machines for loss reduction and higher power density achievements. LÄS MER
2. Degradation Mechanisms of Heat Resistant Steel at Elevated Temperatures : In an Iron Ore Pelletizing Industry
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the different degradation mechanisms of the stainless steel in a travelling grate in a Grate-Kiln iron ore pellet indurator. The travelling grate is a conveyor belt that transports green-body pellets to a rotary kiln while the pellets are being dried and pre-heated to a temperature of 900-1100 °C by recycled hot air. 3. Sintering of water-atomized iron and low-alloyed steel powder
Sammanfattning : Iron and steel powder grades are extensively used in the powder metallurgy (PM) industry for manufacturing of ferrous structural components, with a major customer in the automotive industry. The powder grades are predominantly manufactured by water-atomization, yielding powder particles with highly irregular morphology and good compressibility, making the powder ideal for the conventional press-and-sinter manufacturing route. 4. On particles and slags in steel casting
Sammanfattning : Hadfield steel is widely accepted as one of the most important steel alloys utilized in industrial applications where high impact strength and wear resistance is required. Like in most metallic alloys used for component casting, the mechanical properties of Hadfield steel are directly connected with the microstructure of the material. LÄS MER
