  1. 1. Inclusion Motion under a Swirl Flow in the Continuous Casting Process and Wire Feeding in the Induction Furnace

    Författare :Ying Yang; Pär Jönsson; Seppo Louhenkilpi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; inclusion motion; swirl flow; rotating magnetic field; electromagnetic swirl flow generator; full type; half type; submerged entry nozzle; mold; wire feeding; melting behavior; FeSiRE particle powder motion; induction furnace;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis includes the studies of two phenomena related to continuous casting. One subject is the inclusion motion in the submerged entry nozzle (SEN) and mold when using a swirl flow. The swirl flow is generated in a SEN by using an electromagnetic swirl flow generator (EMSFG). LÄS MER

  2. 2. NMR Studies of Inclusion Compounds

    Författare :Sahar Nikkhou Aski; Jozef Kowalewski; Pierre Mutzenhardt; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NMR; 13C spin relaxation; PFGNMR; Kinetics; Correlation time; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the application of some of the NMR methods in studying host-guest complexes, mainly in solution. The general focus of the work is on investigating the reorientational dynamics of some small molecules that are bound inside cavities of larger moieties. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A study of solid and liquid inclusion separation at the steel-slag interface

    Författare :Jenny Strandh; Pär Jönsson; Robert Eriksson; Keiji Nakajima; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; mathematical modeling; inclusion separation; tundish; ladle; slag; steel-slag interface; physical properties; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis work aimed to provide a better knowledge of inclusion behavior at the steel-slag interface. All results are based on mathematical modeling of liquid and solid inclusion separation to the slag. The model descriptions of the inclusion transfer are based on the equation of motion at the system. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A Mathematical and Experimental Study of Inclusion Behaviour at a Steel-Slag Interface

    Författare :Jenny Wikström; Pär Jönsson; Lauri Holappa; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mathematical modeling; inclusion separation; tundish; ladle; slag; steel-slag interface; CSLM experiments; agglomeration; physical properties; Metallurgical process and manufacturing engineering; Metallurgisk process- och produktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis work is to increase the knowledge of inclusion behavior at the steel-slag interface by mathematical modeling and in-situ Confocal Scanning Laser Microscope experiments. Mathematical models based on the equation of motion predicting liquid and solid inclusion behavior was first investigated. LÄS MER

  5. 5. A Study on Particle Motion and Deposition Rate : Application in Steel Flows

    Författare :Peiyuan Ni; Pär Jönsson; Lage Jonsson; Mikael Ersson; Stein Tore Johansson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; steel flow; ladle teeming; continuous casting; non-metallic inclusion behavior; particle deposition; nozzle clogging; numerical simulation.;

    Sammanfattning : Non-metallic inclusions in molten steel have received worldwide attention due to their serious influence on both the steel product quality and the steel production process. These inclusions may come from the de-oxidation process, the re-oxidation by air and/or slag due to an entrainment during steel transfer, and so on. LÄS MER
