  1. 1. On bone quality and implant stability measurements

    Författare :Bertil Friberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; early failures; titanium implants; jaw bone quality; jaw bone volume; cutting torque; implant stability; resonance frequency; one-stage surgery;

    Sammanfattning : In conjuction with placement of oral implants, the jaw bone quality assessment is mainly based on quantitative radiographic measures and the subjective opinion of the performing surgeon. While the primary implant stability is discussed in terms of the pre-set motor torque and the subjective hand-felt perception during final tightening of implants, the secondary stability is defined as the absence of implant mobility. 2. 2. On Influence Of Undersized Implant Site On Implant Stability And Osseointegration

    Författare :Michele Stocchero; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dental implant; primary stability; surgical protocol; undersized osteotomy;

    Sammanfattning : The use of dental implants for the rehabilitation of edentulous areas is an established treatment, showing high success rates. Primary stability is one of the pre-requisites for osseointegration, and it is ensured by the mechanical interlocking at the bone to implant interface. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Aspects of oral implant technology and osseointegration

    Författare :Rainde Naiara Rezende de Jesus; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; biomaterials; oral implants; surface topography; surface roughness; surface energy; surface wettability; hydrophilicity; macrogeometry; implant body; thread design; surgical protocol; oversized drilling; osseointegration; bone-to-implant contact; bone density; primary implant stability; insertion torque; removal torque; removal energy; connection stiffness; osteoclasts; RAW264.7 cells; gene expression;

    Sammanfattning : Behandling med käkbensförankrade tandimplantat är en vanlig metod för att ersätta förlorade tänder hos helt och partiellt tandlösa patienter. Trots att implantatbehandling uppvisar en långsiktigt hög lyckande- och överlevnadsfrekvens (90–95% efter 10 år) så förekommer implantatförluster och marginal benförlust kring implantaten under det första året efter insättning och/eller belastning, vilket kan försämra det estetiska resultatet. 4. 4. Form and Finish of Implants in Uncemented Hip Arthroplasty : Effects of Different Shapes and Surface Treatments on Implant Stability

    Författare :Stergios Lazarinis; Nils P. Hailer; Lars Weidenhielm; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Form; Finish; Total hip arthroplasty; Swedish Hip Arthroplasty Register; Hydroxyapatite; RSA; DXA; BMD; Stability.; Orthopaedics; Ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : The design of an uncemented hip arthroplasty implant affects its long-term survival. Characteristics such as the form and the finish of the implant are crucial in order to achieve the best possible conditions for long-term implant survival. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Osteoarthritis of the Hip and Uncemented Total Hip Arthroplasty : Effects of Immediate Weight Bearing on Implant Stability, Bone Mineral Density, and Body Composition

    Författare :Olof Wolf; Hans Mallmin; Sune Larsson; Jan Milbrink; Per Mattsson; Per Adolphson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Osteoarthritis of the hip; uncemented; total hip arthroplasty; stability; RSA; BMD; DXA; body composition; weight bearing; Orthopaedics; Ortopedi; Orthopaedics; Ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : The initial recommendation for the postoperative regime after uncemented total hip arthroplasty (THA) was 6-12 weeks of partial weight bearing (PWB) to obtain a stable implant position during bone ingrowth. In recent years patients with uncemented THA have increasingly practiced full weight bearing (FWB) after surgery, which has largely been based on clinical experience rather than on scientific evidence.
