   Sammanfattning : Background: Short and long-term side effects of oncological treatment negatively affect daily living and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patient with cancer.    Sammanfattning : The aim was to study some aspects of patients´ well-being, related to nutrition, activities of daily living and health related quality of life, when undergoing major gastrointestinal cancer surgery. Chart documentations (N=45) of patients undergoing subtotal pancreatectomy were studied, and showed the patients' well-being to be affected, although it was not possible to fully evaluate the results of the assessments and the care given.    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the thesis was to describe the effects of radiotherapy following laryngeal cancer on health-related quality of life (HRQL) and voice function as well as to assess the efficiency of voice rehabilitation. Patients treated by radiotherapy for laryngeal cancer were included in the study and randomised into two groups, one intervention group receiving voice rehabilitation and one control group. LÄS MER

   Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate mental adjustment and HRQL in patients treated for laryngeal cancer. Specific aims were to evaluate if either VAS or Likert response options was more suitable when assessing self-ratings of voice and speech; to investigate the sensitivity to change of the Swedish Self Evaluation of Communication Experiences after Laryngeal Cancer questionnaire (the S-SECEL); to investigate the relation between mental adjustment to cancer and HRQL, mood disorder and survival and to evaluate the content validity of the Swedish version of the Mini-MAC Scale.
