  2. 2. Contrast-enhanced MRI of human knee cartilage Clinical applications of the novel dGEMRIC technique to study glycosaminoglycan content in articular cartilage

    Detta är en avhandling från Medicinsk Informationsteknik, Malmö

    Författare :Carl Johan Tiderius; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2004]

    Sammanfattning : Delayed gadolinium-enhanced MRI of cartilage (dGEMRIC) is a new technique to study cartilage glycosaminoglycan (GAG) content. The negatively charged contrast agent Gd-DTPA2-, injected intravenously, distributes in the cartilage inversely to the likewise negatively charged GAG. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Changes in bone mass and skeletal structure in the postmenopausal period

    Detta är en avhandling från Annelie Norrby, Department of Orthopaedics, Malmö University Hospital, 20502 Malmö, Sweden

    Författare :Henrik Ahlborg; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2003]

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to evaluate long-term changes in bone mass and skeletal structure in the forearm in the peri- and postmenopausal period. 156 premenopausal women, at baseline aged 48 years, not taking medications and without disease processes known to interfere with bone metabolism, were followed through menopause by measurements of bone mass and skeletal structure at the cortical site of the distal radius by single photon absorptiometry, on average every second year until age 72. 4. 4. Fibrinolysis and blood loss in major arthroplasty. The effect of tranexamic acid

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Orthopaedics, Lund University

    Författare :Göran Benoni; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [1997]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; oxygen saturation.; Surgery; blood loss; pharmacokinetics; tranexamic acid; Fibrinolysis; knee and hip arthroplasty; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Blood loss in major arthroplasty may be abundant and often necessitates blood transfusions. These may transmit disease and entail an immunological burden to the recipient. After trauma and surgery, the fibrinolytic system reacts with a short period of increased activity, followed by a fibrinolytic shut-down. LÄS MER
