  1. 11. Hazard screening of contaminated sites : bioavailable fractions and biological in vitro tools

    Författare :Daniel Ragnvaldsson; Mats Tysklind; Per Leffler; Lars Lövgren; Bengt-Erik Bengtsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hazard screening; bioavailability; metal pollution; in vitro cytotoxicity; water extraction; CCA; arsenic genotoxicity; genotoxicity; Contaminated soil; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : The environmental bioavailability of contaminants, rather than their total concentrations in the soil compartment play a decisive role for the risks associated with contaminated sites. Various soil constituents and abiotic conditions have strong influence on bioavailability, which may vary substantially between different locations. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Biodiversity in fragmented boreal forests : assessing the past, the present and the future

    Författare :Håkan Berglund; Bengt Gunnar Jonsson; Jari Kouki; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis are to (1) analyze the predictability (indicators) of plant and fungal species diversity in old-growth forests, and (2) assess the history and biodiversity of woodland key habitats (WKHs) and their potential to maintain species diversity in fragmented boreal forest landscapes. Predictability was explored in Granlandet nature reserve, an unexploited landscape composed of discrete old-growth Picea forest patches of varying size isolated by wetland, reflecting conditions of insular biota at stochastic equilibrium. 4. 14. Vinterbyar : ett bandsamhälles territorier i Norrlands inland, 4500-2500 f. Kr
